Hello folks, questions from a noob. - Samaha - 11-08-13

Good day to you all. I've just acquired my first bike, an FZS600 '02. The bikes ready to go but it would appear it was previously owned by a dwarf!? The seat has been shaved and is pretty uncomfortable, but I was wondering if anything may have been changed to lower the rear of the bike, I can stand over it comfortably with space between me and the seat? I'm 6'3 but surely there shouldn't be that much of a gap? Any advice or tips would be much appreciated. Cheers

It's easy enough to lower the rear end with different dog bones - but mine is standard, and I can stand easily over it too (I'm 6'1"). With the seat cut away, you'll have no difficulty at all doing the same!

Ah ok. I've purchased a replacement seat from fleabay so hopefully that should make the difference.  My brother had to ride it from Deal to Brighton and said it was the most uncomfortable thing he'd ever sat on, which is worrying cos last year he rode a fizzy from lands end to John o groats  :lol

Im running on +25mm Dogbones and at 6'1" its perfect... I would like the +45's for faster cornering as an option!!  :lol

Wicked, got a new seat and that has made a big difference. Next step will be the +25 kit. Cheers guys

Was that a stock, unshaved seat or was it from an earlier Fazer? The problem I have is that my legs are a bit too bent for comfort, so the ride height is irrelevant. However, my local dealer said the early Fazer seats are higher than the later ones and will straighten my legs in relation to the foot pegs a bit. Has anyone else heard that?
