Balance Carbs - fazersteve - 11-08-13 Balancing my carbs for the first time. When I reset the TPS plus my one reads 3000 revs. Even when I move TPS switch it stills reads 3000 revs. And not 5000 as per guide. Re: Balance Carbs - mickvp - 11-08-13 A quick search turned up this: Quote:If you plugged it back in and it read 3000rpm then that is saying a faulty TPS (or faulty wiring to TPS but unlikely). Re: Balance Carbs - darrsi - 11-08-13 I know this sounds daft but you did plug it back in didn't you? Re: Balance Carbs - fazersteve - 11-08-13 Manage to set at 5000 revs. And once I found where ever thing else was manage to set carbs. The long reach screwdriver from Tool station helped make the job so much earlier. Luckily I was not changing myself at a hourly rate. Next time should be a breeze. Thanks again for all the help Re: Balance Carbs - His Dudeness - 11-08-13 (11-08-13, 02:07 PM)fazersteve link Wrote: Manage to set at 5000 revs. And once I found where ever thing else was manage to set carbs. I've found that the first time you do anything it rarely goes 100% smoothly :lol But that's what learning is all about! Hi Steve could you give me details of the screwdriver you bought. When I did my balance recently I struggled to adjust the RH screw as the shaft of my screwdriver was a bit thick Re: Balance Carbs - darrsi - 11-08-13 (11-08-13, 06:05 PM)Soapy link Wrote:
Hi Steve could you give me details of the screwdriver you bought. Re: Balance Carbs - fazersteve - 11-08-13 Hi Soapy, Bought these two from ToolStation http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Hand+Tools/Screwdrivers/Extra+Long+Screwdriver+PZD+1x450mm/d10/sd80/p82330 Wasn't sure what one would be best so bought both. At 450mm long they work a treat. Re: Balance Carbs - jrfunkygibbon - 29-03-14 which size pozidrive did you buy , was it the #1 or #2? i know it helps to have a narrow tool Re: Balance Carbs - darrsi - 29-03-14 (29-03-14, 12:01 AM)jrfunkygibbon link Wrote: which size pozidrive did you buy , was it the #1 or #2? i know it helps to have a narrow tool The #2's okay, not brilliant, gotta be round, but i use a small flat blade as well for the adjuster on the right, much easier. Re: Balance Carbs - Arunmax - 29-03-14 Got these from Poundland, worked a treat http://www.poundland.co.uk/toolbox-long-blade-screwdrivers-2-pack Re: Balance Carbs - Lez72 - 29-03-14 (29-03-14, 09:19 AM)Arunmax link Wrote: Got these from Poundland, worked a treat How much were they ? :rollin :rollin Re: Balance Carbs - Arunmax - 29-03-14 (29-03-14, 01:25 PM)Lez72 link Wrote:
How much were they ? :rollin :rollin
Nothing, I pinched em ![]() |
