FZS 1000 2004 ENGINE COVERS - lee2475 - 10-08-13 I bought me a fazer weekend fzs 1000 gen 1, Very tidy with low miles, Had the ex-up valve issue that I have sorted reading through the tips here ![]() The only thing I would like is to tidy the engine cases up, there is some corrosion coming through on all 3 covers, I was wondering if I could get the R&G ones to fit for the R1? I cant see a set for the fzs anywhere. It might stop them getting any worse if i can adapt something without looking botchy. Any other sugestions would be good as well, Have toched in some of these but cannot get any paint to match atall so wiped it off. Thanks for help Re: FZS 1000 2004 ENGINE COVERS - fireblake - 10-08-13 This is interesting as my engine covers are in the same condition. I'd be up for something like this? Mickey Re: FZS 1000 2004 ENGINE COVERS - nick crisp - 10-08-13 How about something like this tip off from Devilsyam? http://aquagraphix.co.uk/ And see this thread: http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,8530.0.html Re: FZS 1000 2004 ENGINE COVERS - Mick-H - 10-08-13 I'd think best option would be powder coating. Re: FZS 1000 2004 ENGINE COVERS - fireblake - 11-08-13 Recently I've seen a few bikes with various powder coated parts and they had chipped and water had gotten underneath and it had lifted off, it looked a right mess. Although none were engine parts Mickey Re: FZS 1000 2004 ENGINE COVERS - lee2475 - 17-08-13 ![]() Had 2 weeks off work and decided to sort them out and spray them. ![]() Re: FZS 1000 2004 ENGINE COVERS - lee2475 - 17-08-13 another ![]() Re: FZS 1000 2004 ENGINE COVERS - lee2475 - 17-08-13 one more ![]() Re: FZS 1000 2004 ENGINE COVERS - Punkstig - 17-08-13 How bad did you think your aim with the rattle can was going to be? Re: FZS 1000 2004 ENGINE COVERS - lee2475 - 17-08-13 I didnt want overspray over anything, Rather spend some time masking off rather than spend days cleaning the overspray off. Re: FZS 1000 2004 ENGINE COVERS - ogri48 - 17-08-13 nicely done mate, a pukka job. ida masked everything and sheeted up too, nuffin worse than overspray or paint dust settling on other bits of the bike ![]() Re: FZS 1000 2004 ENGINE COVERS - devilsyam - 17-08-13 what was the paint looks like a good match Re: FZS 1000 2004 ENGINE COVERS - lee2475 - 02-09-13 It was the simoniz engine enamel, really pleased with the match its as good as your going to get. Re: FZS 1000 2004 ENGINE COVERS - Kosmic Kartman - 02-09-13 Looks like a good colour match and the masking is.... out of this world, but why didn't you just take the covers off to spray? Mickey Re: FZS 1000 2004 ENGINE COVERS - red98 - 03-09-13 ive used this stuff before on my honda 400/4....it sprays well and is a good match/finish but is easily marked/stained,are you going to use a satin clear coat to seal it.............looks good ,sorry to be a bit negative ![]() Re: FZS 1000 2004 ENGINE COVERS - Ian-man - 03-09-13 What's it look like with the masking off so we can see how good it looks ![]() Re: FZS 1000 2004 ENGINE COVERS - b1k3rdude - 03-09-13 The colour match looks good, but can I ask why you didn't just remove the covers..? as it would have saved all the masking off etc. |
