Break or Sell? - Andy Clap - 26-07-13 So, three months ago I bought a 30k mile 2002 Foxeye on a whim. I was going to strip the good bits and put them on my 17k miler, then polish it (the new one) and sell it. But the "stainless" pipes are more rusty than I'd like on mine, the double-bubble is more scratched, not bothered about braided hoses, do I really need a wavy rear disk... So, all in with buying it, HPI check (all clear), cashing in the road tax, and second hand rear shock it stands me at about £970. The MOT has now expired (only problem I can see is non-functioning right indicators). To get it over to the MOT centre is going to cost me for a van (too law abiding to risk it with no insurance). Do I try and get £970 with no MOT, or would I get anywhere near that breaking it for spares (which would be a shame as it's basically a nice bike)? Cheers, Andy Re: Break or Sell? - His Dudeness - 26-07-13 I'd fix it but stick up an add here someone might want it as is. Re: Break or Sell? - red98 - 26-07-13 it can be surprising how much you raise by breaking but i dont think you`ll get your money back....best bet is to sort the mot,do you have a friend whos insurance covers the bike who could take it in for you ?
