Rebuilt on the go. - martin8180 - 26-07-13 I've owned this about 2 years it started life as a box standard red FZS 600. As you can see from the picture I've done a lot of work on it. ALL the work was done by myself. The bike is use daily for work including winter. So the bike was never taken off the road for the work to be carried out. Re: Rebuilt on the go. - red98 - 26-07-13 ohhhhhhhhh...thats nice and used all year round, you done well there feller.....do like the wheels ![]() Re: Rebuilt on the go. - paulchucky - 26-07-13 looks well matey Re: Rebuilt on the go. - Dead Eye - 26-07-13 Holy crap! Nice work! Looks awesome and is certainly inspiring for me ![]() Re: Rebuilt on the go. - Punkstig - 26-07-13 Very nice colour, when I replace my belly pan and crash bungs with engine bars I shall be looking at making my own belly pan to fit with the bars! Personally I don't get on with polished wheels (not that I don't like them, I do, but I ride in all weathers and they fur up too quickly for me!) Re: Rebuilt on the go. - martin8180 - 26-07-13 The polished wheels can be a pain to keep clean in the winter. I use a polishing kit on them regularly. I rode the bike about 600 mile in one trip in February this year in the snow. Didn't much feel like cleaning the wheels then. :'( Although I did. The belly pan is made of Aluminium. I created a cardboard template of the design and bolted the cardboard to the bike before creating it out of aluminium. Again this can course problems in winter unless its kept clean and painted it will rot. Re: Rebuilt on the go. - Punkstig - 26-07-13 That's pretty much what I'm planning to use for the belly pan and probably pop rivet it to the crash bars, I'm trying decide wether under or over the bars tbh! Re: Rebuilt on the go. - red98 - 26-07-13 could you use a clear lacquer on the wheels.....would keep the shine then ![]() Re: Rebuilt on the go. - martin8180 - 27-07-13 I have thought about clear lacquer on the wheels but I don't think there is anything that will stick to the polished aluminium. And If I could get something I would be afraid of chipping it. So I guess its just hard work to keep them shiny. |
