Deserting - Motorbreath - 28-06-13 After 7 wonderful Fazer years I have betrayed it. Re: Deserting - ddtwelve - 28-06-13 feel sorry for your lass when she sits on the back what a angle on that seat pushing her forward :eek Re: Deserting - Motorbreath - 28-06-13 In fact she checked it and said it seems more comfortable (thanks to all gods, I would had been in trouble otherwise :grumble ). Just hope she remains happy once she have a proper trip. I still have mixed feelings, I truly feel sorry for my beloved Fazer. Tomorrow I will take it to mountain roads, can't wait. Fazer's advantages are: fuel economy, can pack LOADS of luggage, comfy on bad roads. But for spirited riding, this one is better. A mechanic mate has been talking me into geting something similar... but I like big topbox and slower ride in everyday traffic. Will make a special track bike just for the track - so 2 bikes. ![]() Re: Deserting - nick crisp - 28-06-13 Up until recently, I think the T-Ace has represented excellent value for money. I used to have an FZR1000 in '91 and remember that as a great bike - T-Ace essentially the same thing but updated. I say up until recently because a number of classic bike mags have been praising them to the skies of late (T-Aces and FZRs) - can't be long before prices begin to rise Re: Deserting - BBROWN1664 - 01-07-13 My dad had an FZR1000 which he sold to me when he got himself a Thunderace and eventually sold it after about 10 years. After a few weeks without a bike he realised the error of his ways and bought an FZS600 and asked himself why he didn't buy one sooner. I moved from the FZR1000 to an FZS fairly soon after getting it to save my licence. Re: Deserting - Motorbreath - 06-07-13 Still testing it, I have almost removed the previous owner's rear chicken strip, but the tyres are 7 years old Pilot Road 1 and I do not trust them. Powerwise is awesome and smooth, very fazerish, and it seems to have similar fuel economy (my Fazer has a 14t sprocket and I revved the poor bike a lot). Suspension is great, you can adjust it to be more comfortable or more aggresive than a Fazer. But it feels so difficult on very tight corners than I think I would take them faster on the Fazer. I need to build my wrists and forearms, even when I've been working out at the gym for two months already. They were aching on first day, I was afraid I did a mistake buying it. I still have the Fazer. I will remove most modding bits within 15 days and put it back as original as possible. Then I will try to sell it or it will be part of my father's collection if I cannot get a decent amount of money for it. They don't make them anymore, you know. ![]() As far as wrists and forearms go - shouldn't you ride with arms relaxed? Build your stomack, back and leg muscles to hold on to the bike and shift weight. Your arms shouldn't hurt when riding a sportsbike. :pokefun P.S. MODS: you realise we need a Thundercat section on this forum, don't you? ![]() ![]() Re: Deserting - Motorbreath - 07-07-13 Yes, the idea of keeping the Fazer is growing on me. Even my wife doesn't want to sell it too cheap either :eek ! It cannot stay were I live now because I would have to rent an expensive parking place for it, but I would take it to my parent's home, althought it is pretty far from here and I barely could see it. About the wrists... you are making me feel like a noob :'( My wrists -and groins :o - were aching just the first day... I think it only happened while stationary on the bike, like at traffic jams. It is a big bike I have to rest some weight on the bars except if I sit right at the front of the seat, almost on the tank, but I need to open my legs a lot to do that :o . I feel comfortable enough when riding twisties or at high speed -the wind helps. About the Pussycat section: mine is the mighty -fat?- YZF 1000 R Thunderace ![]() You can see the difference here: :foc Publicité Yamaha Thundercat et Thunderace Re: Deserting - Slaninar - 07-07-13 (07-07-13, 10:20 AM)Motorbreath link Wrote: Yes, the idea of keeping the Fazer is growing on me. We were in some finantial problems recently and I mentioned to my woman that we could sell the bike - she sad "NO WAY!"
