Standard Toolkit - JoeRock - 24-06-13

Hi guys,

Just found out I'm missing my standard toolkit for my 03 fox-eye, so unless someone has one lying around and fancies selling it to me I'll be needing to put one together!

So, what exactly is in a standard toolkit? And out of interst, what else do you guys tend to keep under your seats in case it comes in handy?

My AA membership card  :lol

Re: Standard Toolkit - stevierst - 24-06-13

I don't have one either, but then my 600 only goes to work and back, a 40 mile round trip. If something happens, I just call SWMBO and she comes running with the trailer (i hope). :Smile

Here's my toolbox, a little more comprehensive than standard in there!

Re: Standard Toolkit - mr self destruct - 24-06-13

Being a newbie to Fazer ownership I only realised there was a tool kit after reading this thread!  :rolleyes

I don't know if this is standard but for what its worth here's what I found:

Still, I'm glad I took a look under there, I found a Scottoiler!

That's about the full kit! Most valuable is the plug spanner and the G spanner and extension bar for the shock. Only other thing I carry is a rep n go puncture kit. Oh and the shorting links to bypass the alarm immobiliser if nessecary

Re: Standard Toolkit - ChristoT - 25-06-13

I also kept the toolkit from my 125 - sometimes (like when adjusting the chain, say), it's useful to have another 10mm (or whatever).

I also keep a mess of bungee cords under the seat, as well as circlip pliars and the baffles for my exhaust in case Plod decides to rap me on the knuckles.  :lol

Re: Standard Toolkit - Foxwood - 25-06-13

In addition to the standard toolkit, I carry a Leatherman -multitool, electrician's tape, some extra fuses, small LED -flashlight, a small motorcycler's first aid kit, my jacket's waterproof membrane and exhaust baffle. In my jacket pocket I always carry a hard plastic disc to put under the sidestand when parking on gravel, sand, grass etc.

Thinking about getting a bulb kit to be able to change blown bulbs on the road.

Tye wraps and phone charger. I already have a 12v outlet under the seat.

Re: Standard Toolkit - nick crisp - 25-06-13

Got parked in a field at Cassington last night and realised I didn't have a side stand "puck". C spanner from toolkit made an excellent substitute!  Smile

Re: Standard Toolkit - Enceladus - 25-06-13

got some cable ties, paracetamol, electrical tape, puncture kit (the foam can stuff), and some wet wipes (great for a visor clean) !

Re: Standard Toolkit - JoeRock - 25-06-13

Had a stroke of luck today! Turns out there's a rather nifty hidden compartment in the Fazer behind the bit of plastic saying "tools", which funnily enough, contains a toolkit!

Re: Standard Toolkit - Andy FZS - 26-06-13

That's odd mine are in exactly the same place. ;-)

Re: Standard Toolkit - Dead Eye - 30-06-13

From both of my two 600's the sum total of the tools I found under the seats consisted of one screwdriver... which was bent... mind you, it helped to plug the breather tube which was pissing out fuel all over the Sainsburys forecourt 15 minutes after I took delivery of it
