Nitron shock for 1000 - brooker81 - 23-06-13 Anyone got one ? Any thoughts or views compared to r6/ohlins Re: Nitron shock for 1000 - steeeve66 - 23-06-13 (23-06-13, 10:16 AM)brooker81 link Wrote: Anyone got one ? Any thoughts or views compared to r6/ohlins I have one for sale - I replaced it with an Ohlins recently. The Nitron is the simpler version, still an improvement over the OE. set up for 90kgs. S Re: Nitron shock for 1000 - seangee - 23-06-13 Was very happy with mine. Race version so more control for fine tuning and length adjustable. Also for sale as I replaced the rest of the bike. Setup for 100kgs. Re: Nitron shock for 1000 - Mark YPVS - 23-06-13 Had one on my R1 (5jj) I think it was the track version and found it a massive improvement over standard, built to my weight/height etc, from PDQ maidenhead. Mark Re: Nitron shock for 1000 - JoeRock - 23-06-13 Pound for pound, I personally, and a lot of track day racers reckon that their race spec shock is better value, and equally as good as the ohlins equivalent. I've had the sport model on my hornet 6 which was very good, my mate bought the track version for his Ninja 9 and it was fantastic, totally transformed the rear. THey're also completely rebuildable and servicable, nitrons customer service is fantastic in my personal experience (had an issue, they came and picked the bike up, rebuilt the shock and didn't charge me a penny - even when it turned out my bike was actually at fault rather than the shock!), and they're also modular, so are easy to convert over to fit any new bike you'll buy! Only downer really is they don't keep their values quite as well as Ohlins do, but as long as you don't give up riding for good and sell it, that doesn't matter! Oh, one other downside, I'm not a particular fan of the turqoise springs they use, but they have black and reds too so it's all good! Re: Nitron shock for 1000 - PieEater - 26-06-13 I have the Nitron Track shock and am very happy with it, but this is my first aftermarket shock so can't comment on how it compares with the competition. I gave the guy at Nitron my weight, riding style, pillion requirements and it came set up spot on. If I was on a tight budget I would definitely consider the R6 shock though. You're getting a nigh on new modern sports shock for a fraction of the price. |
