rear wheel bearings - justy1 - 21-06-13 been told the rear wheel bearings need changing at some point. any recommendations on what ones are best/most popular? bikes a T reg mk1. many thanks justy1000 Re: rear wheel bearings - otis - 21-06-13 If you can find a bearing wholesaler in your area you will get better quality bearings and a hell of a lot cheaper. I always use the 2 or 3 in my area every time and most are of the shelf. Delivered quick as well - no issues yet. Re: rear wheel bearings - justy1 - 26-06-13 cheers guys. always buy my bearings from the local bearing dealer. just wanted to know what the best/most commonly used bearings were as this is the 1st time ive had to change um. anyone know the code as i cant really take um out as the bikes my only mode of transport. :\ thanks again. justy1000 Re: rear wheel bearings - red98 - 26-06-13 had a full set once.....lost a few now though :lol Re: rear wheel bearings - gassitt - 26-06-13 Rear wheel 6204 2RS Sprocket carrier 6206 2RS And the best ones are the ones I get free from the stores at work ![]() Re: rear wheel bearings - unfazed - 26-06-13 The Fzs 600 bearings are: Front Wheel 6203-2RS CN or C3 Rear Wheel 6204 - 2RS CN or C3 Sprocket Carrier 6206 - 2RS CN or C3 RS is for rubber seals an CN is Clearance Normal and C3 is Clearnce Code 3 The clearance is measured between the balls and the rings and you have C1, C2, CN, C3, C4, C5. There is aslo a CM clearance which is in and around the same clearance as CN and often used to reduce noise. C1 has the smallest clearance and C5 the largest. The possible heat (disk transfer) and vibrations (road surfaces and out of balance) the wheels would really necessitate CN or C3 specification, C3 being the most common aftermarket type Since the bearing is a vital part in the bike, for your own safety stick with known brands ![]() Re: rear wheel bearings - JZS 600 - 27-06-13 Check out the World Bearing Assocation for confirmation!
