Hi all,
my name is Giuseppe, but my friends in Sicily (where i'm from) call me Peppino
I'm currently on a nice and rusty cb 400 sf but looking to upgrade, personally always been a fan of the fzs 600, first model
Hope to join you guys soon with my new purchase
There is only 1 thing that scares me about the fzs, I read a lot of articles regarding this 2nd gear causing issues. Is it something that affected the early models only or not? Is it something that soon or later will happen in all models?

Hey Peppino welcome to the party!!!
You'll love the fazer & regarding the 2nd gear issue it potentially affects all of the FZS600.
However prevention is better than the cure & if you find one that isnt jumping then relaxed & slow gear changes from 1st to 2nd without any crazy revs is the way to prevent this happening.frequent traffic light grand prix will no doubt help along what is already a weak point.find one that hasnt been punished,take it easy on the gear box & you'll have a bomb proof, superb all round bike that will bring many a smile to your face.
I dont know the more in depth technical data but if you search in the forum search bar there is a wealth of stuff already discussed on the gearbox issue.

Hi,
i understand your point, it won't be easy to see who has used it before.
I reckon that one model i was interested, that has aftermarket exhaust, braided hose and few stickers could have been in the hands of a young nutter
probably better looking for a model from some adult owner, who should have taken it easy with the bike....
