fz1 scottoiler advice please - jonnemesis - 13-06-13

has anyone tried using the dual injector with an fz1? scottoiler website says not compatible but on its spreadsheet says it is. I can't think of why it wouldn't work...

Also, can anyone advise where the vacuum pipes are. can't really work it out from the fitting instructions.

thanks

I bought a kit which included the dual injector. It is still sat in the box. I prefer how I installed the single outlet on my gen1. The outlet pipe runs down by the coolant reservoir and drips onto the lower run of the chain near to the front sprocket. Still a crap system though, in hindsight I'd have spent  the 70 notes on 30 tins of WD40.
The vacumn hose you need to connect to are the same as those used for balancing the throttle bodies. I extended mine years ago so it was easy for me but you'll need the tank up & look for them at the bottom of the throttle bodies. The hoses from memory are between 1&3 and 2&4 and they're a twat to get to. I'll find an online pic & post it for you.

I've got a dual injector fitted to mine, 42k miles so far and works fine.

The vacuum feed is taken off a t-piece which was in the Scottoiler kit, fitted into the tubework under the tank.

Reservoir bracket bolted to the nearside Givi rack arm close to the pillion footpeg hanger. Oil feed pipe routed through holes drilled in the swinging arm.

Dual injector is attached to the underside of the swinging arm with two self-tap screws.

Neat job, even if I say so myself.

If you don't want/need the dual injector, I can give you some money for it.  Big Grin

What oil do you use in Sctot Oilers?

On our trip to Italy we were doing 400 plus miles per day, on the way down it was pissing down and all our chains were dry and rattly when we got there, i oiled mine lots each morning but still dried out, i think i have fucked mine,,

I reckon on long trips i will be fitting one of these.

I use engine oil in mine, always have, always will. I also drill out the brass spigot slightly in the end of the scottoiler to aid better flow for the thicker oil.
I don't get chainwash ever, and  always lubed up ready for action! :o
