ROUNDABOUTS & BUS LANES - SEPTIKANGEL - 11-05-13 Gotta feel sorry for him. :rolleyes My son, passed his CBT, started riding his CBF125 in March (proud Dad & Mum) and was doing quite well 'till yesterday. Fell off in rain at low speed on a roundabout, no injury, minimal damage. Limped home with forks twisted in yokes and bent bars. Straightened out easy enough, then he opened a brown envelope with this........ ![]() Cried? :'( I nearly PMSL. :lol Steep learning curve innit. Poor bugger! Re: ROUNDABOUTS & BUS LANES - Razgruff - 11-05-13 Poor kid lol But he's earned his badass biker stripes in my book ![]() Re: ROUNDABOUTS & BUS LANES - Skippernick - 11-05-13 sorry, is he not allowed in the bus lane? is that push bike painted on the ground then? Re: ROUNDABOUTS & BUS LANES - SEPTIKANGEL - 11-05-13 Hi Skipper, it's a pedal cycle 'icon' painted on the raodway, but my sons left mirror makes it look like a crash helmet is also painted on the floor. Just the photo angle unfortunately otherwise I'd have been straight onto the council! Re: ROUNDABOUTS & BUS LANES - BBROWN1664 - 12-05-13 Check the signposts as they may allow motorbikes in he lane too. Also, it's not unheard of for he cnuts to send out a postal fine foe a time of the day when the lane is non operational. Re: ROUNDABOUTS & BUS LANES - bri h - 12-05-13 I feel sorry for the lad hope he gets away with it but i bet you pay the fine if he doesnt haha. Re: ROUNDABOUTS & BUS LANES - Farjo - 12-05-13 Looks like he was caught by this camera: http://goo.gl/maps/TS81R Kids eh! Re: ROUNDABOUTS & BUS LANES - slimwilly - 12-05-13 GUILTY!!!! :lol poor boy, must learn to read. Stupid rule though. Re: ROUNDABOUTS & BUS LANES - portboy - 12-05-13 Looks like he's wearing plimmys !!! WTF ![]() Re: ROUNDABOUTS & BUS LANES - ddtwelve - 12-05-13 :lol id argue with it as it says bicycle in my road tax renewal form and its onlt a 125cc not much faster than a push bike either hehe Re: ROUNDABOUTS & BUS LANES - sure2ride - 12-05-13 I think someone on here posted a reference to that argument on a you tube clip a while ago. The clip showed the rider trying to argue that case with a police officer who stopped him in a bus lane, the rider even had his log book to hand in anticipation of being stopped. (admittedly it was a bigger bike but the principle was the same)..needless to say he lost the argument and got a penalty. :\ Re: ROUNDABOUTS & BUS LANES - stevierst - 12-05-13 Yeah, by the letter of the law its a motor vehicle unfortunately, not a bicycle. Anything powered by steam, electric, petrol, diesel, oil, or gas is a motor vehicle. Taxation class always pops up as bicycle, and is a bit of a bone of contention with riders/cops. Its a bit misleading, and badly worded!:-\ Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2 Re: ROUNDABOUTS & BUS LANES - Chillum - 12-05-13 How does that fit in with some of these electrically assisted pushbikes then? Re: ROUNDABOUTS & BUS LANES - Dead Eye - 13-05-13 I assume they should be fine as they don't have a registration plate - no where to send a fine to ![]() Re: ROUNDABOUTS & BUS LANES - stevierst - 13-05-13 (12-05-13, 11:53 PM)Chillum link Wrote: How does that fit in with some of these electrically assisted pushbikes then?I assume the word 'assisted' is the key there. It still has pedal propulsion as its primary power. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2 |
