french bikes - kylron - 30-04-13 After finding out I had a bike originally meant for France thanks to Dddddaves post I have a couple of questions. Are the restrictors attached to the carb tops, kind of tophat shaped with a spring going into the middle of them,? Is this the only restriction , the bike is a 2001 model FZS 1000. Re: french bikes - tomlinscote - 30-04-13 If you mean little plastic mushroom things then yes, they limit the power to just over 100 bhp, the French being the only EU country who took up the 100 bhp limit for bikes. So if you buy a new 1600 BMW for ex it will have only 100 or so bhp, rather than go for a power to weight ratio limit, daft sods!! I think this is to be repealed in a couple of years though. I think this is the only restriction to power, you might like to check the lights and the speedo too though Tommo Re: french bikes - MEM62 - 03-05-13 Does it smell of garlic? :rollin Re: french bikes - dazza - 03-05-13 I had a French bike and this is what those silly cheese eaters put in my carbs One way to look at it is...You know it's been run in nicely as it just wont rev out with these in ![]() Re: french bikes - kylron - 04-05-13 Thanks for the photos dazza, that's what I found as well, haven't had a chance for a decent run on it yet to try it without the restrictors. |
