MT-01 - chaz - 28-04-13 I'm thinking of getting a MT-01 as a second bike for a long distance plodder? anyone had one of these, if so what did you think of it? WELL I'VE FOUND ONE AND IF ALL GOES TO PLAN SHOULD HAVE IT THIS WEEK OR EARLY NEXT WEEK, WILL PUT A PICTURE ON ? Re: MT-01 - FuZzBoM - 29-04-13 Not had one but I have also been tempted. I have also considered BT1100. the cash you save could be spent on tricking it up with exhausts and shock etc. ![]() BT1100 also has a much better fuel economy and a 5 litre larger tank, range is much better so I have read. Hmm might get back on ebay and have a look lol Re: MT-01 - Chris - 29-04-13 The MT-01 sounds incredible! There's a guy in the local motorcycle club that has one with the Akrapovic system on it, man that thing sounds good to follow! The bt1100 is obviously a much cheaper choice and apparently all the owners of them seem to love them but after a few reviews and youtube videos then the suspension looks pretty spongy and the handling sounds rubbish for spirited riding. Having said that, if you're just cruising in town or a bit of country lanes then i'm sure it'd be fine. If I had the money i'd go for the MT-01. A valid point about the money saved by buying the bt1100 on improving it although I'd rather buy a bike that was sorted in the first place. Chris Re: MT-01 - FuZzBoM - 30-04-13 All V-twins with sporty pipes sound good. Know a bloke with an SV650 on straight through and that sounds nice. I will guess not as earth shattering as an MT-01 though lol. For me personally modding and changing things to suit me is part of what I love about bikes. Can get a heavier shock spring for around £90 and that would help a great deal without breaking the bank. But I have to agree given the cash the bigger engine would seduce me and I would get the MT-01 Re: MT-01 - chaz - 30-04-13 (29-04-13, 10:47 PM)FuZzBoM link Wrote: Not had one but I have also been tempted. Re: MT-01 - FuZzBoM - 30-04-13 They do look good. sad to hear you had some numpty pull out on you.. Might be worth trying to get a ride on a MT-01 an see what you think. If it was my money I still think I would go the route of getting a BT1100 and sorting suspension (I am a heavy rider) and modding it a bit. Looking on ebay you can get Hyperpro shock spring for £85 and fork springs with oil for £117.. But then I like to tinker :lol Re: MT-01 - Chris - 30-04-13 Glad you're ok and still into bikes! I suppose it depends a lot on what you're going to use it for. Go for the MT-01 though :lol Chris |
