Tyres - wisey - 28-04-13 Hi All Have decided to get my fazer back on the road after five years ( Don't ask). I have dunlop sportmax D207's on front and back which are worn out. Any one recommend which tyres best to replace. After using bike everyday for work now will just use for weekend blasts. Cheers Re: Tyres - darrsi - 28-04-13 Easier to do a search on this forum, it's a topic that's been well and truly covered many times. Re: Tyres - wisey - 28-04-13 Ok Cheers Re: Tyres - JZS 600 - 30-04-13 Got to be Bridgestone BT 023's! (get ready for the onslaught,,,) Re: Tyres - Dead Eye - 30-04-13 Agreed, love my BT023's ![]() Re: Tyres - riz - 30-04-13 Did the Bt023 lovers have the 020's and/or 021's at all, and what did you think of them, compaired? I've only ever had 021's on the rear of mine and always had complete faith in them, in all weathers, but the 023 seems to have even better reviews. Re: Tyres - riz - 30-04-13 A mate had 021's on his FJR, after a 1000 miles he seemed happy so i bought a pair, soon after his front started to wear in a very strange way, i put it down to the weight of the bike and his riding style, ie not slow down for corners, but mine went exactly the same way on the thundercat, the rear i'm sure was ok for more miles but i lost faith in it. In the end with the miles i used to do and the cost when they first came out i used to get maxxis supermaxx touring tyres, and fit them myself. From what i've seen though the price has gone up and will be due a new rear soon on the fazer so need to start looking into what boots to put on. Re: Tyres - JZS 600 - 30-04-13 I've had 20's, 21's and 23's The 20's were hard wearing, the 21's wore a bit weird and the 23's are going great! Did a track day recently at Brands Hatch and they worked really well in a wet session and a dry one. As i said, i've only ever had 021's on the rear. I have read a few bad reviews about the front tyres though. Oddly enough, i've always had a Metzeler M1 on the front, which has worked brilliant for me, but the rear M1 has had bad reviews too. I have been lucky that the combination i have used has been really trustworthy for me, although i don't think they make the M1 any more, especially as i bought 2 front tyres at the same time on sale, and only paid £35 each from M&P. ![]() Not decided yet but my next front will either be an M5 or an 023. |
