Headlight unit mot failure - Update - NotAnotherHill - 24-04-13 It passed on the Re-test ![]() Took the cone out. The MOT testing guy didn't know what function they served. He reckoned that light beam patterns were usually negatively affected without them in. But obviously not with the Fazer. The adjusters worked. It was only the cone falling in front of the light beam that meant the beam pattern couldn't be adjusted properly. Saved minimum of £95 for a second hand replacement unit. New price is obscene. Thanks for everyone's advice. Re: Headlight unit mot failure - Update - Dead Eye - 24-04-13 Great to hear! I hardly ever ride in the dark. Only took the cone off at the weekend so I've only ridden it during the day. My Fazer has had the lights wired together so that they both come on together on main beam but from the odd time I've ridden on unlit roads at night the headlights weren't fantastic. Re: Headlight unit mot failure - Update - riz - 25-04-13 Not planning on doing much riding in the dark either, but may well do the twin light mod, but with a switch so i can have it off most of the time (makes it more obvious when you 'flash' your lights i think), then just switch it on when i'm out late. My last bike had rubbish headlights and riding from memory wasnt clever, it was only on a foggy night i realised why the dipped was so rubbish, a lot of the beam was sent towards the stars!!! |
