Fuel pump - Young rider - 06-04-13

I know when startiing the bike there click but once started should they click as mine does it every min or so.

Re: Fuel pump - noggythenog - 06-04-13

I understood the ticking was the pump filling up the carbs,so to keep doing it later....one newb to another my extreme guessyology says perhaps a small amount has evaporated so the pump tops it back up again :rolleyes .

I do look forward to hearing the real answer.& getting flamed ha ha! :lol

Re: Fuel pump - Young rider - 06-04-13

Two ticks.

It will tick when you first switch it on but mine does it when running every few minutes.

Ah ok i thought you meant with just the ignition on it would click again,no probs,

The ticking is so quiet, how do you even hear it with the engine running???

Re: Fuel pump - darrsi - 06-04-13

You sure it's that and not the cam chain "ticking"?

yup when i have my hand on the pump you can feel it when it clicks.

Re: Fuel pump - Dead Eye - 06-04-13

If the engine is running this is entirely normal and part of its standard operation... fuel isn't going to get to the carbs unless its pumped there (in this instance)

Re: Fuel pump - red98 - 06-04-13

well said DEADEYE....quite normal , just the pump working  Wink
