Re: euro rules for GB stickers - BBROWN1664 - 09-03-13 You can get motorcycle specific GB stickers that are only 2-3" wide ovals. Dont look too bad. Alternatively, get a new number plate with the Euro bit already on there. Re: euro rules for GB stickers - locksmith - 09-03-13 I'd say if that sticker will fit on your plate, buy one! Re: euro rules for GB stickers - pilninggas - 09-03-13 In the EU/EEA you can use a blue-background GB sticker with the [horrid] EU ring of stars. To be honest I have seen tons of brit bikes with no Gb marker and i've never heard of a problem. I have a EU-GB sticker on the edge of my no.plate (99p in the local hardware shop). However if you go outside of the EU, you need the old oval full size sticker. Allegedly some countries like Russia and Belorussia use this as a way to extract a 'fine' from the unknowing. Re: euro rules for GB stickers - purplebear7 - 09-03-13 ![]() The Police (all three types) are sent out in the 'Make Us More Money Mode' ! You get stopped .. you need to be 100% up to date with Everything! Maybe even more so over the border in France! Most people get pulled over at Toll Road Gates .. where you have to stop for tickets and payments .. this gives the Police a good chance to look you and your vehicle over and decide on any actions required. Most of the National Bike Cops are in the .. 'I'm a Biker Too Club' .. so if you salute or nod .. you'll often get a nod and a smile in return. I guess my local guys all know me anyway. I was talking to a group of UK Lads on the ferry last year .. three of them had been done €80 (cash on the spot) for no GB markers at a Toll Gate! I've been living here seven years now .. always had the Euro Blue Logo jobby built into the Bike & Car number plates. I've been stopped and well checked (maybe twice a year) and Annie just a couple of times .. we've never had any problems .. but she was lucky one day .. just by chance she was wearing trainers. Driving if Flip-Flops or open back sandals is illegal and both men and women drivers/riders have to wear a shirt! One other side angle on this topic .. one that I like .. is that if you advertise that you are not local .. the Spanish drivers seem to give you a wider berth .. a sort of ''Look out Gerald .. he's one of those English'' :eek kind of thing .. that suits me fine Hyacinth ! Stay Safe guys .. read the blinkin book ![]() Re: euro rules for GB stickers - ChristoT - 10-03-13 Spend £12, get a GB logo'd numberplate. You're sure you're legal, and gain street cred for having it. A suggestion I saw on a BMW forum once when researching the same thing - stick the GB sticker on the back of your helmet!! :rollin Re: euro rules for GB stickers - MEM62 - 11-03-13 For the small amount of outlay involved go and get yourself a GB plate then you'll have nothing to worry about. If you are anything like a lot of us your first trip won't be your last so it's a good investment. Re: euro rules for GB stickers - ddtwelve - 26-03-13 well this is what i got |
