stoner v8 debut - baggy - 28-02-13 Love him or hate him, early days but not a bad start at 9 out of 30 in his first practice http://www.v8supercars.com.au/news/casey-stoner-makes-dunlop-series-debut Re: stoner v8 debut - Chris - 28-02-13 I don't get why everyone moans about him all the time. He is a very talented man and I wet myself laughing when he said to Rossi that Rossi's ambition outweighed his talent. Anyway, back on topic, All the best to him, as I've said he's a very talented man so sure he'll do well in the race series. Re: stoner v8 debut - baggy - 28-02-13 I hope he does well. He is a very talented person and was just focused on what he wanted to achieve and let his racing and results do the talking. Re: stoner v8 debut - Hamos - 01-03-13 I like the guy, good look to him. I hope he does return to bike racing in the future, but I doubt it. Re: stoner v8 debut - pitternator - 01-03-13 I cant understand just why someone with so much talent goes into car racing...at his age. maybe its because he can ?? I always felt he was better than pedrosa. Never felt his ride at Honda was in doubt , even with marquez in the wings. My feeling is he went as much cos he couldnt stand the thought of not being on the best bike, as for family reasons...maybe he knew once the honda ride went what was left there for him?...I dont think he lost his nerve etc, but he was getting pi**ed off by something in how motoGP ran, we may never know the real truth....I doubt now he will ever return. Regarding him and rossi, IMO Rossi was the better rider.Stoner did have the knack of landing the best ride at the right time. When the ducati first came out it was so much faster in a straight line, it was easy victory once he got the lead, no other bike was fast enuff to catch him. As it became more uncompetitive, he jumped to Honda just as the massive investment in their bike showed through.I think his moto GP career is now too short to ever compare him to rossis achievements. At his peak he was brilliant , a real master of the slide....I do wonder just how much more he had to give...it will be interesting to see just how lorenzos career develops by comparison. Re: stoner v8 debut - baggy - 01-03-13 I read somewhere last week that Honda was open to him doing some guest rides this year, if he had issues with how Motogp is ran I doubt he will do any, but it would be good to see Re: stoner v8 debut - Skippernick - 01-03-13 Undoubtedly a great rider, i loved watching him go sideways round a corner. But what a moaner, the guy was so uptight i'm surprised he didn't exploded, it was a funny comment he said to Rossi, but really Rossi has nothing to prove, Stoner only got 2 GP titles, probably would get more but we'll never know. Re: stoner v8 debut - baggy - 01-03-13 He didn't finish his first race, he crashed out http://www.foxsports.com.au/motor-sports/v8-supercars/v8-supercars-recruit-casey-stoner-hits-a-wall-and-retires-in-his-dunlop-series-debut-in-adelaide/story-fn2ms9um-1226588687858#.UTDUHqLbJ8E Re: stoner v8 debut - chilly - 01-03-13 i think he only jacked cos of er indoors nagging after his accident. "your a father now" etc... not that i care ![]() ![]() |
