Tyre mileages - robby boy - 28-02-13 SWMBO has just announced that there is sufficient funds in the piggy bank for a nice set of rubber for the new season, the bike is currently sitting on Bridgestone BT21's which were on it when I got it approx 6000 miles, I only use the bike for pleasurable weekend runs with some spirited runs through the twisties, cutting to the chase what kind of tyres are you guys running and what kind of miles are you getting out of them. Re: Tyre mileages - AdieR - 28-02-13 Mine is currently on BT020's (nearly new when I bought it last year), back is squared off with just over 2k (mostly motorway) miles. Due in for MoT shortly so it's getting a Conti Road Attack 2 on the back. I got 9,000 out of a Bridgestone 023 rear (mostly pleasure riding through the twisties) before it needed replacing. The front is still going strong at about 11,000. Re: Tyre mileages - bwizz - 25-03-13 6000 is very good mileage from any rear tyre, I found a BT 21 very noisy on my 600, I wore it out later on my thou where it was quiet, weird or what? Inlaw and myself changed to avon storms ,they are good but I would not expect 6000 miles with them Re: Tyre mileages - robby boy - 25-03-13 Thanks Bwizz, was looking at changing to Michelins don't know whether to go for pilot power ct2 or pilot road ct2, don't really like the feel of the BT21s as they have never really filled me with any confidence. Re: Tyre mileages - chaz - 06-04-13 I got about 4k on 020s (rear) gone onto maxxis but not worn out yet due to weather, seem to grip ok and a lot cheaper £185 instead of £250 a pair, so if I get 4k out of them I'll be happy. update august 3rd, done over 5,000 miles now, the rear is ready for changing but can't complain about the handling, better than the 020s Re: Tyre mileages - Rashid - 29-04-13 Singapore being a tropical country, I guess tyres wear faster. Bridgestone BT023 180/55 10 months, 21000 km. BT023 120/70, 13 months, 26500 km. Re: Tyre mileages - positron - 29-04-13 You guys must be riding hard to wear tyres out in 3-5k miles, because as a mostly-motoway-commuter here in Ireland, I got 12k miles from a BT023 rear and BT021 front tyre combo - and I am nearly 15 stones / 90kg+. Re: Tyre mileages - Lawrence - 30-04-13 I got 12.5k out of my rear PR2 before it needed replacing due to a puncture :'( Had 17k out of the front one, but that's not far off needing a replacement now. Mostly riding in a straight line up and down the A12. Re: Tyre mileages - tosh23 - 02-05-13 great mileage and great wet weather Tyre...stonking in the dry....the best but they are expensive.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110-70-17-160-60-17-Michelin-Pilot-Road-3-YAMAHA-FAZER-600-Motorcycle-Tyres-/300886585559?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item460e3cf0d7 Re: Tyre mileages - Punkstig - 18-05-13 £'s per mile pr3’s are not expensive at all, minimum 15000 out of the rear And good enough for the barons cbr1000rr on track plus 12500 miles! http://youtu.be/eLPQSrwGxpY Re: Tyre mileages - Grahamm - 18-05-13 (28-02-13, 11:41 PM)Grahamm link Wrote: I got 9,000 out of a Bridgestone 023 rear (mostly pleasure riding through the twisties) before it needed replacing. It probably would have lasted longer, but after doing a IAM Skills Day at Thruxton the right hand side tread had pretty vanished ![]() Re: Tyre mileages - lew600fazer - 21-06-13 (29-04-13, 05:05 AM)Rashid link Wrote: Singapore being a tropical country, I guess tyres wear faster. I think you have done really well Lew Re: Tyre mileages - JZS 600 - 21-06-13 I've got 10,000 on my front BT 023 with probably another couple ot thou left. Put a 023 on the back 6K ago and loads of tread left. Im mostly communting so happy with that. Re: Tyre mileages - ChristoT - 21-06-13 Got 6k - 7k out of a Maxxis Supermaxx rear tyre. Going on to Michelin PR3s when the rear gives up the ghost, it's not enough for my taste. Re: Tyre mileages - stevierst - 21-06-13 My Fz1 ate a rear pr3 in a couple of thousand miles, I was in shock to see it wear away so quick! The front is still on after about 4k and still going strong. Lew Re: Tyre mileages - Ablackrose1989 - 20-07-13 I had Bt 23's on mine only got 2.7k on rear front had about another 1k or so. So far Ive done 7k miles on my metzeler z8's I swear by theese tyres I think I may be able to get another 4-6 k out of them. great in the rain and good in summer : -http://www.flitwickmotorcyclesexpress.com/metzeler-roadtec-z8-180-55-17-motorcycle-tyre/ review: -http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/Products/productsresults/Tyres/2010/June/jun2910-metzeler-roadtec-interact-z8-first-impressions/ |
