Couple of Fazer Questions - Lez72 - 19-02-13 I was giving my FZS1000 its winter deep clean and noticed a couple of things so was just wondering !!! its a Gen 1 2002 model by the way. Questions are 1) Should the rear brake caliper have a protective dust cover on its underside that stops all the crap getting up into the caliper ? I have had numerous bikes before that have had one. 2) On the inside of the rear footrest hangers there is a threaded bolt hole which looks to have had something fitted to them at some point as there is a 'bolt head' mark where i presume something once resided. What was it that was fitted or am i misreading something. It looks like an ideal place for some bungee hooks or something similar but mine obviously doesn't have anything and its just a threaded hole ? Regards in advance ![]() Re: Couple of Fazer Questions - richfzs - 19-02-13 For q2, did a previous owner have luggage fitted that would have attached here? Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk 2 Re: Couple of Fazer Questions - karlo - 19-02-13 Yes the hole is for the pannier carrier to attach to. ![]() ![]() Re: Couple of Fazer Questions - bigsteve - 19-02-13 Ah thats what that treaded holes for :rolleyes not for tax disc holder which ive used it for 8) Re: Couple of Fazer Questions - Lez72 - 20-02-13 Thanks folks. That clears those questions up then. I guess the previous owner did have pannier racks fitted as something has been fitted at some point. I take it from the diagram that the rear brake caliper doesn't have a dust cover either. Phew, i dont have to buy a replacement now ![]() Re: Couple of Fazer Questions - Tmation - 20-02-13 IIRC there should be a weight bolted to the pillion footrests to help dampen vibrations, they get removed for the rack fittings. I have had my SW Motech rack and pannier mounts on for about 7 years now, so weights lost in the mist of time :o Re: Couple of Fazer Questions - Lez72 - 20-02-13 Ahhh, that also makes sense as the front footrest hangers have weights attached too ![]() |
