I have a fake carbon one on mine. Got it of the bay of E a few years back. Have seen the odd real carbon ones to but harder to come by.

Not worried if it's fake or not as long as it hides the key scratches!

Re: Yoke protectors - GrahamB - 14-02-13

I bought an A4 sheet of carbon look vinyl & made a cover for mine. Might even have made 2 I can't remember? Definitely made a template in case I needed to make another. Mine is in 1 piece so had to remove bar risers to stick it down. Had to very careful I got it in the right place too but managed it okay. No pics but could take one if you want?

Re: Yoke protectors - GrahamB - 14-02-13

Was wondering why I made a second one until I took pictures of the first one. Seems I drilled all the way through the yoke when I swapped it for the one from my old bike. oops.

Haven't cut holes for risers or forks yet but marked them out on underside. I spend far too much of my time on stuff like this. No wonder my girlfriend is always moaning I am neglecting her!  :'(

Re: Yoke protectors - bludclot - 22-02-13

i've never understood why yokes need 'protecting'. just don't have anything hanging off the bike key and there's nothing moving about to damage or scratch anything or to cause any distractions!

when i've bought a used bike with a scratched yoke i replace or refurbish the yoke. hiding damage always seems a less palatable option.

Unfortunately people seem to keep their bike keys with other ones (I never do) but it's a good short term solution until I can refurbish it.  Smile
