FZS600 exhaust problem - Sinbad - 02-02-13 Hi, I have a small problem with the exhaust on myFZS600, when I last serviced it I noticed thst the exhaust didn't sound right. On closer examination I noticed that some of the fumes were exiting from the base of the can by the link pipe. Is there a way to repair this other than replacing the can? also is the link pipe permanently attached to the can on the stock exhaust or can it be detatched? Thanks Re: FZS600 exhaust problem - Dead Eye - 02-02-13 It's probably just the gasket between the exhaust can and the link pipe. You should be able to separate them and replace the gasket which is pretty cheap if memory serves ![]() Re: FZS600 exhaust problem - Fazerider - 02-02-13 The standard silencer has the short link pipe as an integral part. The internals are not stainless so holes develop and gases escape around the inlet end of the silencer. I bodged mine by squeezing high temperature silicone into the gap between the stainless steel flange and the link pipe... it lasted a few years like that. Quite deep compared to some others and also fairly loud with the baffle out. I've never been pulled over for it though - can't wait to get it re-attached and listen to that lovely noise ![]() Re: FZS600 exhaust problem - Jamieg285 - 05-02-13 (05-02-13, 11:09 AM)alexanderfitu link Wrote: If you are watching one that has a 15 pound bid on it, then thats mine Linky?
