little help please - alonsho - 26-01-13 i have fazer 1000 2002 got it a month ago.... and when the engine is hot i cant ignite someone can think of a reason??? Re: little help please - dickturpin - 26-01-13 how are you trying to start it? with or without choke? Re: little help please - alonsho - 26-01-13 no choke Re: little help please - dickturpin - 26-01-13 have you checked the condition and gaps on the plugs? Re: little help please - alonsho - 26-01-13 dont have problem when its cold so dont think the plugs are the problem Re: little help please - His Dudeness - 26-01-13 that sounds like classic symptoms of tight valve clearances to me. have you ever check your valve clearances? what happens is the clearance is too tight and when everthing gets up to running temperature it expands and the valve gets held open all the time and so you lose compression and so the bike won't start when it's hot. this can burn out your valves because the valves cool themselves by seating against the head and if they're being held open they can't cool properly Re: little help please - Falcon 269 - 26-01-13 I don't think you need to worry about tight valve clearances and burned valve seats just yet ... ![]() ![]() What is the mileage on the bike? When was it last serviced? Any modifications, particularly to the carbs or exhaust? Does the motor start eventually or does it refuse to start at all when hot? If you can answer these questions, it will help focus on the possible reasons for your problem. ![]() Mike Re: little help please - Tmation - 26-01-13 Dirty air filter would be my first guess, but as Mike says the more information you can give the better. Re: little help please - alonsho - 26-01-13 i have the bike for one month now made 100k km(60k miles) no modifications that i know of dont have his history Re: little help please - alonsho - 26-01-13 and its start eventualy after several tries today it turned off while driving.... :rolleyes Re: little help please - slimwilly - 27-01-13 Seems like an electric problem, a component is getting hot and not working perhaps, the starter drains power so perhaps something needs more power. Re: little help please - Falcon 269 - 27-01-13 Start by fitting new plugs. So many starting problems turn out to be caused by old plugs. The fact that it doesn't happen when cold proves nothing. While you are changing the plugs, remove the plug caps (they unscrew), cut 1cm off the wire and refit. Also, clean out the ignition switch with WD-40. Flush it through completely to remove dirt. Make sure the air filter is clean. If it is dirty it will make hot-starts difficult. Cold starts won't be affected by a dirty air filter because the engine needs a richer mixture to start. Re: little help please - alonsho - 27-01-13 thanx for all the advices ![]() ill find time and try them ill keep you posted |
