Really quick question about carb needle clip settings? - reillypadraig - 12-01-13 What slot is the clip supposed to be in? I know someone told me slot 3 out of 5 but is that from the top or the bottom of the needle? Re: Really quick question about carb needle clip settings? - unfazed - 12-01-13 Well if there are 5 slots and it should in slot 3, I guess that would make it the centre one :rollin Re: Really quick question about carb needle clip settings? - reillypadraig - 12-01-13 Lol, I left a lot out of that, was ment to say I'm adjusting the needles because I'm lacking on quarter throttle, so was going to adjust the needles, they are already on 3 so should I just move the clip down 1 setting? Re: Really quick question about carb needle clip settings? - Fazerider - 12-01-13 Moving the clip down will raise the needle and give the bike a richer mixture. But if this is still that set of carbs that looked as if they'd spent a year in the sea, I'd give up on them and find a newer set from a breakers. If a passageway is blocked or a jet has widened through corrosion or an adjuster has seized, moving the needles about isn't likely to correct things. Re: Really quick question about carb needle clip settings? - unfazed - 12-01-13 Dump them a buy a second hand set Re: Really quick question about carb needle clip settings? - reillypadraig - 12-01-13 I think that's my only option now, had a good look, they are just abit beyond repair now, idle screws ain't movin, Carb hunt is now on.... :'( Re: Really quick question about carb needle clip settings? - red98 - 12-01-13 yes +1 for replacement carbs,be waste of money getting them sonic cleaned ,good luck with your search ![]() |
