Wanted Downpipes - Skippernick - 21-12-12
Anyone got there mild steel ones kicking around in reasonable condition?
Mine have started blowing holes in the collector box area.
I will do mine up, but a swap with a reconditioned set would make it easier.

Ive got a set of SS ones in the shed I think, that rotted out in the same place, Ive had them welded up but replaced now for a 2000 mk. Am in herts if you want to give me a drink plus postage, there yours. Let me know and Ill check there still there.

Hi guys
I'm going to try and repair mine, but its a pipes off job so a week of socking the exhaust nuts in wd40, so won't know until then how bad they are.
I'll let you know in a couple of weeks if i need them.

First time I had my pipes off I tried the WD40 for a week, and sheared 3 off of the header nuts. Lucky a pal was on hand with a mig welder :'( . Next time, I lobbed them up with copper slip on the header bolts at time of refitment, then when I needed them off 18 months later, I coated repeatedly and alternitivly with GT85 and aerosol PlusGas, no snappages and this has worked another 4 times. Just what each individual prefers.
