Sports Personality of the Year - Skippernick - 26-11-12

Just announced the shortlist.
Obviously becoming the first brit in 12 years to get on the podium in motogp isn't good enough to get on the list.
Bad luck Cal it was just the wrong year to do it. Maybe win a race next year and you'll get in there.

Re: Sports Personality of the Year - JZS 600 - 27-11-12

1st ever GB Tour de France win ever and an Olympic gold medal in the time trial?

OK, I know it's not football but it must be worth a vote or 2 for Bradley Wiggins,,,

Re: Sports Personality of the Year - His Dudeness - 27-11-12

Jessica Ennis would get my vote for what she did in the Olympics but mainly because she's a fox Wink

Re: Sports Personality of the Year - bigbluebear - 27-11-12

Andy Murray gets my vote, 1st Grand Slam title win in over 70 years and a Gold Medal

Re: Sports Personality of the Year - DryRob - 27-11-12

Confusedtop Andy Murry lacks personality

On that basis it should probably go to Bradley Wiggins but then Katherine Grainger showed true dedication to sport and Ben Ainslie is apparently the greatest sailor of all time. I can't make my mind up to be honest.

Re: Sports Personality of the Year - ZiggyCol - 27-11-12

Tough decision. Murray has done fantastically well but it's only tennis. Ainsley and Hoy both incredibly consistent performers over a long period. Farah provided possibly the moments of the Games and winning both 5/10000 is an incredible achievement. Ennis is such a brilliant all rounder.

But I can't get past Wiggo for my vote. Apart from the fact that the Tour is just so incredibly tough he is the first ever Brit to win it. Plus he has a fantastic Olympic record - 7 medals, more than any other Brit apart from Hoy who has the same. And on top of that he is a real personality. What more has a man to do . . . .

Re: Sports Personality of the Year - bigbluebear - 27-11-12

Just look at Ryan Giggs, what exactly did he do that was that special to win it, even he looked embarrassed....Wiggins does look favourite though

Re: Sports Personality of the Year - red98 - 27-11-12

It isnt. In an Olympic year with so many golds he wouldnt be in my top 100. Then there are the other sports...

Double glazing!

Re: Sports Personality of the Year - goldfazer - 28-11-12

Being a cyclist Wiggo would be high on my list anyway, but given his achievements and the fact he's got a personality, he's got to be fave. I think he'll win by quite a big margin.

Re: Sports Personality of the Year - MarchRide - 28-11-12

Eric Bristow for me.  :lol :lol

Re: Sports Personality of the Year - JZS 600 - 28-11-12

I was at the Broadgate Arena when team sky were doing roller racing against the general public (NB: fat bankers) when one of the guys racing against Wiggins had a heart attack!

Re: Sports Personality of the Year - Hodge - 01-12-12

It's realistically between Wiggins & Ennis but Jess would get my vote as she had the weight of a nation on her tiny shoulders being the poster girl of the London Olympics.

Re: Sports Personality of the Year - JZS 600 - 02-12-12

I was working at the Olympics, I think they all deserve a vote.

me too!
I think that they all did very well but I think Wiggins if only for those sidey's

Re: Sports Personality of the Year - Tori - 05-12-12

Wiggins? But it's only sitting on a bike?

Full credit to our Olympians, but they had four years to prepare. Andy Murray gets my vote. (Even though it's 'only tennis')
