Upgrade questions - mtread - 24-11-12 Couple of questions to those who've already done these. I've got a 2003 FZS600 'foxeye'. Great bike, had it since new, 34K so far and definitely a keeper forever. The K&N air filter. Does it really make a lot of difference ? Do you need to rejet too ? Does it slot in without any mods ? The Hagon variable compression fork springs. Do they make a lot of difference ? I've had the Hagon rear unit in for 10K now, and I think it is great, and super value for money. Made a world of difference to the saggy knackered standard unit. Front forks have had the 15w oil installed, and they feel fine, but just wondered if Hagon's variable springs are much better. A cheap upgrade or not worth doing ? Re: Upgrade questions - unfazed - 24-11-12 Answer in order of questions asked Yes No, Yes Yes Why am I so sure? because I did them all 50,000 miles ago The 'No' answer above is definite with a standard pipe and some of the quality after market ones with baffles. Cannot comment of baffleless ones. However the Fazer runs slightly rich so they may be ok. Re: Upgrade questions - mtread - 24-11-12 Thanks for all that Unfazed, especially with 50K of experience ! I've got the Motad headers with a Fuel end can (baffle in). The Fuel can made a fair bit of difference just in itself. Bike goes really well, but just looking for that little bit extra ![]() Re: Upgrade questions - bwizz - 24-11-12 I have fitted a KN and bbc (similar) to two 600 fazers, I've noticed a slight mid range improvement on both bikes, I would say as the KN is re-usable well worth the difference in price over standard. Not bothered with one for the my thou as plenty power all round as standard Re: Upgrade questions - red98 - 25-11-12 highly recomnend the k&n,easy to fit and no re-jetting needed, its the same size and shape as standard but much better quality and performance ![]() Re: Upgrade questions - Andy FZS - 25-11-12 Fitted a k&n to mine a week or two ago, due to lovely rain and slippery leaves I've not been out on it to try yet. Oh well I'll look forward to dry December day......... Andy Sent from my GT-N8010 using Tapatalk 2 |
