Hi All - need some info.... - stinkerbill - 06-11-12

Hi folks,

I've just joined and may be looking for a FZ1 Fazer.. the new shape (2006+ ?)

I dont; know much about them other than I like the look of them, but I need to know some info - what to look for, what mods/fixes/model-updates are normal/essential and has anyone raised the bars at all? I'm used to riding more upright bikes (BMW 150GS, Buell Ulysses, KTM Duke, V-Strom... amongst others) and worry the Fazer might be too 'sporty' for my back.

Also, I'd be looking at below £4k for one. Is that even realistic?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated!  8)

Hi stinkerbil,

I have an FZS1 gen 2    2007

Cost me £4,500  you could probably find one cheaper , but its an awesosme bike.

The end can has been changed and a tail tidy fitted,

I dont know if the cat has been removed, i have blocked the air inlet on over run to stop the loud backfiring,

I have cut the secondry flies down, this helped initial acceleration.

Opened up the airbox inlet, fitted a Kand N filter.

Now need a Power commander to readjust the fueling and its a sorted bike, i hope.

Not quite in your price, but you could sell the panniers on and recoup some...

Looks lovely, but 4k is my absolute ceiling... Thanks for the point-out though!
