Alpinestar Winter Jet Road gloves on offer! - Arfa - 17-10-12 Looks like Visor Down are doing a decent co-buy on some toasty Alpinestars winter goretex gloves. Looks set to be a pretty good deal if enough people join the co-buy. £80 down from £120 odd. Come on people, join the co-buy, I want to pay rock bottom prices and not freeze me fingers off this winter! ![]() http://www.buyapowa.com/ref/0YCTaS Re: Alpinestar Winter Jet Road gloves on offer! - JZS 600 - 17-10-12 I saw that, I'm waiting for the price to come down a bit yet! (I know that's not the point of co-buy,,,,,,,) Re: Alpinestar Winter Jet Road gloves on offer! - richfzs - 17-10-12 I have a pair of these gloves, like them a lot. Re: Alpinestar Winter Jet Road gloves on offer! - Arfa - 18-10-12 Down to £70 quid now. No excuses, jump in and grab a pair! Re: Alpinestar Winter Jet Road gloves on offer! - DanielT - 18-10-12 i'm in. how do i tell them you sent me? what is your nickname? Just wondering 'cos I've never had anything Goretex that's remained waterproof for more than the first few downpours. :'( Re: Alpinestar Winter Jet Road gloves on offer! - JZS 600 - 18-10-12 CO-BUY CLOSED! :'( (should have gotten in earlier,,) Re: Alpinestar Winter Jet Road gloves on offer! - Pat - 18-10-12 (18-10-12, 11:43 AM)Fazerider link Wrote:
How long have you had them, Rich? Just wondering 'cos I've never had anything Goretex that's remained waterproof for more than the first few downpours. :'(
I've had a pair of the previous model for at least 3 years now & they're brilliant, still fully waterproof. Can be a bit of a faff putting them on & getting the inner liner under your sleeve & the outer over it, but it's well worth it as they're the best winter gloves I've ever had. At that price they're a steal! I find it odd that you have problems with Goretex kit, I've never had a leak with any Goretex kit, even the Daytona boots I bought in 1995 are still going strong! Re: Alpinestar Winter Jet Road gloves on offer! - Fazerider - 18-10-12 Maybe I've been too much of a tightwad to buy decent quality then, the stuff I've bought in the past seems to work fine until a few months have gone by and I've lost the receipt and thrown away the packaging. :lol The exception was the original Frank Thomas H2O boots (no Goretex), they lasted years and relied on decent quality leather with a waterproofing treatment rather than letting the water soak in until stopped by a layer of plastic film. Re: Alpinestar Winter Jet Road gloves on offer! - JZS 600 - 18-10-12 Time to winterize,,, Bought one of these from Mountain Warehouse http://www.mountainwarehouse.com/ski/accessories/ski-accessories/016323-windproof-neck-gaiter-p6445.aspx?cl=BLACK and it does exactly what it says, bargain! Re: Alpinestar Winter Jet Road gloves on offer! - richfzs - 18-10-12 I've not had them long, fazerider, but as pat said, goretex has always worked well for me Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk 2 Re: Alpinestar Winter Jet Road gloves on offer! - Arfa - 18-10-12 (18-10-12, 01:59 PM)JZS 600 link Wrote: Time to winterize,,, That looks decent. Need something like this too. Still just using a skimp free thing I got on front of a magazine! Re: Alpinestar Winter Jet Road gloves on offer! - positron - 18-10-12 I have been looking for a decent (affordable) Gerbings option for a while, and VisorDown has Gerbings XR12 heated gloves list as one of their future co-buys. http://www.buyapowa.com/visordown How often do they have these co-buy thingees? Would I be waiting for weeks, months or till next winter? Re: Alpinestar Winter Jet Road gloves on offer! - Arfa - 18-10-12 Think they usually come round every couple of weeks or so. I like the idea of heated gloves, just not sure about faff plugging them in. Re: Alpinestar Winter Jet Road gloves on offer! - JZS 600 - 18-10-12 I thought about them but riding every day sometimes I need to take 2 pairs with me just in case of a downpour etc... Heated grips and change of gloves seemed to make more sense to me.
