Lowering the front for better front end ? - Jimmygixxer - 08-10-12

My bike is a bit light & twitchy at the front end at the higher speeds.
Was thinking about dropping the forks through the yokes 10mm.
Would this improve the front end stability and grip because of moving some more weight to the front?
I know doing this can make the bike turn quicker and lose some stability, but I wouldnt mind as long as i had a more planted front end.

hello
I dropped the forks on my old 600 but found that even 7mm was too much as the front was being pushed whilst cornering. maybe try 3-5mm and go for a long ride on your favorite road. I also found that the front tyre was well worn on the sides and the middle had plenty of tread before replacing.
good luck with the trials

Its hard to believe that 7mm drop would make such a difference as it seems like nothing, but i will give it a go.
The bike handles great, its just the front doesnt feel as planted as id like.

has the rear end already been jacked up?if so its like dropping the front down! on my last bike(rf600)i dropped the foks around 10mm and it did steer into corners much faster but got a little more twitch on it! if you do drop your forks do a few mm at a time and go very steady to get used to it,a few mm makes a huge difference!
