USD front end swap? - blue_faz600 - 29-08-12 Has anyone heard of a late model R6 front end being mated to a box eye fazer? The reason I ask is that there are numerous options for the rear shock but I haven't seen many fork mods! There are a few guys on here with gen 1 1000's with R1 front ends and I wondered whether it was possible with the 600/R6? Re: USD front end swap? - snapper - 29-08-12 your only limited by your imagination ! if its not been done why not be the first ! But Ive always thought the 600's front end was pretty well sorted from reading the forums, but I dont have one and never ridden one to pass any realy informative comment ! Re: USD front end swap? - caretaker - 29-08-12 type in USD forks into the yuku forum search. not cheap but can be done. Re: USD front end swap? - Tiberius Onklevaart - 30-08-12 I have R1 yokes that were to go onto box eye 600. Never did it in the end up but i accumulated most of what i required Top and bottom yokes New front wheel and spindle arrangment Mudguard Stem, although this will need to be checked against the fazer headstock, it may be possible to have the fazer stem pressed into the R6 yo0kes (this was my plan). If that is to be the case, spacers will be needed for the yoke eye size difference where applicable The major issue comes from the fazer speedo sensor. There is no slot to fit in other model's wheels so likely you would need to lose it. In doing so though, you murder the midrange of the bike as it is connected to the TPS. I think there is a way of doing it successfully but its way above my pay grade |
