FZS600 on a trackday. Any advice? - Ben600 - 21-08-12 Hi all, I have been lucky enough to get a place on the 'Bennetts Ultimate Track Day' with Cal Crutchlow, Scott Redding, James Toseland and Jamie Whitham at Oulton Park! I fully intend to take my trusty little FZS600 Fazer (Y )reg , but as this is my first trackday, I am unsure what preparations, if any, I should make to the bike. So any help, advice or pointers would be very much appreciated. Thank you for your time and help, Ben Re: FZS600 on a trackday. Any advice? - His Dudeness - 21-08-12 what sort of condition is the bike in? there's not a lot you can do other than make sure everything is working as it should be. i'd do all the fluids (oil, coolant, brake fluid), clean out the air filter, make sure the chain is happy, lube all cables, you could stiffen the rear shock and change the oil in the front suspension. Re: FZS600 on a trackday. Any advice? - markbubble - 21-08-12 as already said check bike over, make sure brakes and tyres etc are spot on as well as oil, collant etc as already mentioned, make sure you are also prepared with good leathers, gloves, helmet etc and full tank of petrol and have fun and dont forget to post some photos, ride to your limit not others! Re: FZS600 on a trackday. Any advice? - bozboz - 21-08-12 As mentioned above but also consider...Check your insurance allows you to do trackdays if not you can get 1day track day insurance. Make sure your leathers conform to the trackdays regulations; usually its one piece only/two piece that zip together leathers only. Loud zorsts are usually ok but the organisers usually have a limit written down somewhere (although I've never seen any flouresent types walking round testing them ![]() Finally and this is important for you and your bike! >>>Dont take your first corner(s) like a flat out racer<<< (aka knee down) you will have cold tyres and the bike will almost certainly slide from beneath you if you do! :evil I know it sounds silly but theres usually one that forgets and does it! Apart from that have an awesome day -will be an experience! Cheers BozBozĀ ![]() |
