HEL Brake lines fitting help - FuZzBoM - 04-08-12
Hi all, just got a set of HEL lines for my Gen 1. the rear went on without a problem but no matter how i route the front ones it does not feel natural. I have fitted Braided lines on bikes before without a problem but i wonder if i am missing a trick.
Have any of you helpful bunch got any pics or advice on the best way to route them?
I have the 2 line race style setup if that helps,

I understand your problem. Had a HEL two-line kit on mine for a while. Never did feel right with the routing, particularly at the master cylinder end. I eventually went back to a 3-line Venhill rig using the OE splitter on the forks.
Not much practical help but maybe it you'll be glad to know it's probably not how you've fitted them. Photos would be good, though, just to be sure.

never been happy with my hell front lines either. when i fitted 758's i fitted the 2 line fronts and found them really tight and the angles were just slightly wrong.
now swapped to flat renthals and they still dont run right from the handlebar end and have allways rubbed the mudguard at full dive with both bar types.
cant afford to change them and its not a "problem" as such it just isnt perfect as it should be.

Figured it out!!! well google did lol.
because the type of fitting HEL lines use you can adjust the banjo. you can twist it round in itself. HEL say they do the best they can but it is never 100% aligned so they use this fitting for adjustment (why do they not make this more widely known?)
I found holding the line wrapped in tissue paper with pliers and then a small multi wrench to twist the banjo round worked perfectly. the lines are now on and work great but most importantly with no leaks
I have an old set in the garage for my car and they also have the same fitting so it must be across the range.
