Ten Years After - Falcon 269 - 29-07-12 ... the day I collected the Fazer from Carnell's in Milton Keynes and I still can't think of another bike that could take its place. ![]() After a decade of ownership and 46k miles, the old girl has lost about 30lbs, gained almost 20bhp and has had more than a few other changes to suspension and appearance. ![]() To celebrate the anniversary, this morning we converted 20 litres of Snr Repsol's finest unleaded into sound and speed. Fun at its finest. Simply the best. ![]() Re: Ten Years After - robby boy - 29-07-12 Happy Birthday, Falcons bike, looking good 10 years on. Re: Ten Years After - know your limitations - 29-07-12 I like it. It looks pretty much unfettered but you KNOW it'll go like stink. 10 eh? Isn't that the age for criminal responsibility? That means from now on, it really should know better. Can the same be said for it's owner though.....? xD Re: Ten Years After - fireblake - 29-07-12 Awesome, Nuff said Re: Ten Years After - devilsyam - 29-07-12 darn i have had 4 in that time spell lol Re: Ten Years After - Kosmic Kartman - 30-07-12 "To celebrate the anniversary, this morning we converted 20 litres of Snr Repsol's finest unleaded into sound and speed. Re: Ten Years After - pitternator - 31-07-12 lovely photo ![]() my second fazer now has 8 yrs and 36 k, so is still a relative youngster ...but had a delightful ride on sunday, in warmish dry , sunny conditions ....still has the performance to get the adrenaline going. That awesome kick at 4k..prodding the gear lever and realising, feck it was in top.....how can it accelerate that quick !Even the K tech sussies have settled down now, and the ride quality was good for the big speeds we were doing ... It is a fabulous motorcycle.I cant see me ever selling it tbh ...it owes me nothing at all. Reckon it will do at least double the mileage. Just wish we had ur weather ! Re: Ten Years After - paul1606 - 31-07-12 As a birthday present have you thought of getting it ivanised?? Do you know anybody who can do it for you :lol Re: Ten Years After - dekker555 - 31-07-12 I'd duck if I were you Paul! Re: Ten Years After - paul1606 - 31-07-12 ![]() Re: Ten Years After - misterjayb1 - 31-07-12 Nice bike... Particularly love the front end :thumbup Re: Ten Years After - Falcon 269 - 31-07-12 I know a man who can, Paul ... ![]() Nice to know your K-tech bouncy bits have suppled-up (aka, run-in, I guess), Jon. Just goes to show that it's not only an engine that needs time to bed down. Speaking of which - I'm outta here. ![]() Re: Ten Years After - pitternator - 01-08-12 Mike Yes, I have had a break from my fazer for 7 weeks, riding another bike, its given me the chance to recover and fully appreciate just what I have got. I also can see just how superb the K tech sussies just are...its comparable to the finest out there.I really had lost my confidence in K tech, but its all back now ! My thoughts are to get my gen1 sprayed up now, over the winter , its going to be a keeper...so I fancy investing in a yammy speedblock type paint job...probably in classic blue ! Re: Ten Years After - Falcon 269 - 01-08-12 Glad you've regained your faith in K-tech, mate. ![]() I'll nail me colours to mast (pun intended) and say that I've never seen a Yamaha speedblock job on a Fazer that's really worked, IMHO. There's not enough surface area to get the proportions right and the body panels, fairing and tank don't support a flowing line. Looked brilliant in red on M1 MotoGP bike and the 2012 R1, though. ![]() Re: Ten Years After - Kosmic Kartman - 01-08-12 (01-08-12, 05:59 PM)Falcon 269 link Wrote: I'll nail me colours to mast (pun intended) and say that I've never seen a Yamaha speedblock job on a Fazer that's really worked, IMHO. That sounds like a design and layout test for me. ![]() Re: Ten Years After - Falcon 269 - 01-08-12 If anyone can make it work, you can, Ad. ![]() Crack on, chap! Re: Ten Years After - pitternator - 02-08-12 Go for it m8....photoshop !! ![]() Re: Ten Years After - Kosmic Kartman - 02-08-12 I supose I could turn the big Mac tonight. :pc But first. Paperwork, beer, curry and beer. Re: Ten Years After - jackojet - 02-08-12 Well done Mike Bike looks great as ever.
