anyone used CONTINENTAL CONTIMOTION - sadlonelygit - 28-07-12
yet?
looking for a high-ish mileage tyre with a decent amount of grip for the trip to Spain + back for not much dinero.
last conti's i used were road attacks and they were
a)shite in the wet
b)dead at 2.5k
yes i know about roadsmarts/PR2-3's/angels
or will my diablo's last another 1800 miles (1000 up already).

ive got couple of mates on those?....one runs ducati 1098 and the other fjr and swear by them!! and seem to get good mileage out of them !!..

Road attack 2 are the best tyre I've ever ridden. Except they last very short.
Conti Motion I've used on my 125 cc Suzuki only. They are not bad. But I'd go for Metzeler Roadtec 6, or 8 on the fazer.

If I am doing a euro tour I would fit new 023s or roadsmarts. I always got up to 5k from a rear and much more from a front. I wouldnt mess with cheaper tyres if you want to avoid having to get a tyre en route....if you do that it will end up dearer than buying a known decent tyre from the start.Its a chunk of money I know, but to me if you are touring you have to have decent tyres which will last ...and cope with rain too. Its entirely possible you might hit rain which you have to ride in , or bad weather at altitude....if that happend the small saving on a cheap tyre will seem pointless.

I'd agree with that, top tyre, but the front easily lasts for two rears.
Unfortunately, Continentals are just as expensive as other makes nowadays despite the Euro getting a clobbering, they used to be £30-£40 cheaper than a set of Bridgstones.

i had bridgestone 014 all round when i got the bike secondhand in feb the front had a ouple of mm in on it and the shop wouldnt fit a new one but i got a new rear 014 , now i changed the front to a contimotion and have not noticed any differece in grip etc between that and 014 , the rear still a 014 which has done 3500 miles :'( and down to the last mm will be moving to a new conti rear when i need to change , £86 rear, £70 front for conti, £130 rear,£70 front
