front sprocket cover gasket - caretaker - 07-07-12 just took off the sprocket cover to check whether the sprocket nut is the correct one, and the gasket falls apart. i went on the wemoto site but they only do the complete gasket set. anyone know where to get one or is it a case of make your own? ta. Re: front sprocket cover gasket - born to be mild - 07-07-12 Get one from your Yamaha dealer, I did but Im not sure why as I dont really know what the gasket is for anyway. By the way, the genuine gasket comes with a protective backing which looks like it would do as a replacement as its the exact shape of the actual gasket so Ive kept mine thinking great, two for the exhorbitant price of one, but then Im tight anyway. Re: front sprocket cover gasket - Fazerider - 07-07-12 Just clean up the surfaces and bolt it back together, the gasket doesn't do anything useful. You may find the clutch needs a slight adjustment as without the gasket the pushrod will be closer to the actuating mechanism on the sprocket cover. Re: front sprocket cover gasket - caretaker - 07-07-12 many thanks. |
