Who on earth - richfzs - 06-07-12 needs to be told this? Specific Carbtune extra instruction ![]() That little sentence comes from Morgan when you order their Carbtune.... Who on earth tried it, made them selves ill and (presumably) tried to sue, to make them even think of putting this sentence in the order confirmation email?!? Re: Who on earth - AdieR - 06-07-12 Trouble is, there's an awful lot of stupid people out there who would try it.....Manufacturers are now having to state what *not* to do with products to avoid being sued. IIRC it all started after an American sued Flymo after using a lawnmower to trim a hedge because "there was nothing in the instructions that said I couldn't use it as a hedge-trimmer". Re: Who on earth - mcyoungy - 06-07-12 and even if there had been Flymo would have lost the case. There has to be a large obvious label on the device itself because users cannot be expected to read the instruction manual. Re: Who on earth - Tiberius Onklevaart - 07-07-12 I tried it It gave me Lupus I have to come to terms with the fact i'll never appear in an episode of House Re: Who on earth - Tmation - 07-07-12 (06-07-12, 08:10 PM)richfzs link Wrote: needs to be told this? Americans..... I have a Nissan that is made in the US of A and the hand book has one page on how to wear your seatbelt and about 23 on how not to wear or use it.......you couldn't make it up :eek Re: Who on earth - ChrisJH - 08-07-12 This just about says it all stupid yanks Re: Who on earth - steeeve66 - 08-07-12 Wasn't it in America that someone put their cat in the microwave to dry it out? Sued and won because the manufacturer hadn't explicitly made clear microwaves weren't suitable for drying wet pets... Another, more well known example, "objects may be closer than they appear" etched in to car wing mirrors. Re: Who on earth - know your limitations - 08-07-12 I bought some festive lights a few years back (made in China) and the packaging said in bold type, "FOR INDOOR AND OUTDOOR USE ONLY". I never did work out what the alternative could be :o/ Re: Who on earth - Tiberius Onklevaart - 08-07-12 (08-07-12, 05:42 PM)know your limitations link Wrote: I bought some festive lights a few years back (made in China) and the packaging said in bold type, "FOR INDOOR AND OUTDOOR USE ONLY".
