Fuel Pump O-Ring - skooage - 05-06-12 Hello all! Just finished replacing my tank after a nasty little ding got put in it from some idiot throwing it down the road (no idea who that was :rolleyes ) and only just looked in my Haynes regarding the O-ring which states that it needs to be replaced when it's removed. How necessary is this? If extremely, where can I get an O ring for the fuel pump cheap? Re: Fuel Pump O-Ring - skooage - 05-06-12 Also, bike is a '05 FZs 600, Probably should have included that earlier... Re: Fuel Pump O-Ring - AdieR - 05-06-12 O-rings (wherever they're fitted) should be replaced as a matter of course, they're fairly common items so any good motor factors should have them (or if you have one nearby, try Halfords). They're not particularly expensive either. If you do a lot of work on the bike (or indeed, the cage), it may be worth buying an O-ring kit (basically a multi-pack of various sizes). Re: Fuel Pump O-Ring - mcyoungy - 05-06-12 I'd say that's a big o-ring and maybe not standard fare at a motor factors. http://www.yamahamotorcyclespares.co.uk/spares/epc2.asp?modelID=9858&PageiD=27&m=YAMAHA+FZ6%2DS+FAZER+++2005+FUEL+TANK&uID=0 item 12 I guess Personally, I'd re-use the old one anf if it doesn't leak, all's well.......... but it's not my bike. Re: Fuel Pump O-Ring - chaz - 13-09-12 looking at the link for spares how much would it cost to build a bike from spares x3 x4 x5 x6? they used to say for cars it was x3. |
