Screen advice - Noj - 22-05-12

I have a 2012 FZ1 and it has a standard screen, I find the wind blast too much. Could anyone sugest a replacement? MRA screens look ugly :eek. I am only 5' 11" tall.

Pictures and links would be good. Thanks.  Big Grin

Re: Screen advice - Strifae - 22-05-12

I had a taller screen on my FZS600 so... me too! i would be interested to know the best ones

Re: Screen advice - tomlinscote - 22-05-12

I know that Rifle do screens for the gen1 so maybe they do them for the gen 2 too???
I have a Givi on my gen 1 and before that I had a Powerbronze so again maybe they may have options for you?

Cheers

P

Re: Screen advice - Ben Diesel - 22-05-12

I have the Yamaha touring screen fitted to mine. It's about 4 inches higher than the OE screen. Keeps the wind blast off. I'll see if I can find a photo....

Re: Screen advice - AyJay - 22-05-12

Bypass the Yamaha touring screen and go directly to the Givi if you're 5'11". I'm a wide 6'1" and the touring was ok for a bit, but the Givi is much more protective. It's a good bit wider than the Yamaha touring so it seems to smooth the airflow as well as being more protective.

I would agree. I'm 5'9'' and the Yamaha is just ok for me. Good screen but could do with being a few inches taller

Try one of these, no wind blast or noise ('cept for her wittering away on the back)  :lol

or if you just want to replace the screen instead of the bike, try this instead, works fine on mine.

Wow! I like the Gold wing concept, however it would be unwelcome filtering in the Westend of London I think. I do like the Givi as well as the Yam touring. I will keep my eyes open for what comes up.

Thank you guys. Realy help full.
Noj

Re: Screen advice - AyJay - 25-05-12

I don't think that Goldwing's fairing is tall enough. How's about this. I measured the Fazer up, I reckon I could make it fit ..

Re: Screen advice - SEPTIKANGEL - 25-05-12

:lol  LOL  I can't see over the 'wings screen without standing up, no chance with that!  Reminds me of  'Alien'  :eek

Re: Screen advice - AyJay - 26-05-12

Yeah, it's there's definitely something HR Geiger about that screen shape. Although, I don't remember Alien having Austin Princess Van den Plas running around the place. Wot is with that faux radiator grill on the front? Hideous.

Cheese grater? Fly filter? Air cooler? Stylist had a funny turn? :rollin

Re: Screen advice - paul.s - 27-05-12

iv got a gen 2 double bubble screen for sale

Re: Screen advice - Noj - 10-06-12

Thanks Paul S

I have not settled on one yet the Givi sounds good however the Yam touring one looks cool but only comes in clear, still looking.

Thanks for the offer though. :thumbup

Re: Screen advice - taksi - 10-06-12

I have a '58 plate fz1 fazer and have a double bubble MRA smoked grey screen that is excellent. Have a look at www.BikeHPS.com. They are a German product, very good quality and are a straight swap.

:eek
I took my hot air gun and mini roller and slowly and carefully made a bit of a raized section on the outer edge. Works a treat!

Re: Screen advice - dazza - 18-06-12

Noj, I have a light tinted yam touring screen if you're interested.
