Re: ear plugs - do you / don't you & why ? - mcyoungy - 18-05-12 always wear them on the bike. I don't want my hearing damaged. simples. Re: ear plugs - do you / don't you & why ? - CRH - 18-05-12 too late for me!!! just been diagnosed with meniers disease! I have tinitus (a ringing in my ears), and am begining to go deaf, good enough reasons I would think. Still, at 80, I've a lot to be thankful for! :lol Re: ear plugs - do you / don't you & why ? - CRH - 18-05-12 bloody hell and you still riding?? ime 57 and nackered!! and yes i too have tinitus! i dont get the ringing mines more like a whooshing!! drives me mad? only got it in one ear though? worst when its quiet?? Re: ear plugs - do you / don't you & why ? - solorider - 18-05-12 around town i dont bother but on a run i do wear ear plugs, one of my helmets is extremely noisey Re: ear plugs - do you / don't you & why ? - rufus t glasgow - 18-05-12 i've tried a few different kinds and they all lead to instant short term tinnitus. if anyone can recommend some good i'll be,..ahem..., all ears Re: ear plugs - do you / don't you & why ? - rustyrider - 18-05-12 Tried them once and very soon stopped to take them out. Felt far too quiet, cocooned almost. My Shoei helmet is quiet anyway and I like to be able to hear what is going on around me in case I haven't seen it. Re: ear plugs - do you / don't you & why ? - Dunky - 18-05-12 Always wear them no matter how short a ride or listen to the ipod. Dunky............. Re: ear plugs - do you / don't you & why ? - Dave48 - 19-05-12 I wear them nowadays-they cut out a lot of noise.Try them on the motorway-they get rid of a lot of tyre noise from cars, trucks etc. Arrive less tired and ride more alert.Didnt start wearing them til a few years ago after I noticed some hearing loss but I can still detect the rustle of a £10 note @ 50metres! :lol Re: ear plugs - do you / don't you & why ? - CRH - 19-05-12 hey? what!!....you can still direct your russel to a £10 note @ 50mtrs!!... eye sight perfect then DAVE ??????? :lol Re: ear plugs - do you / don't you & why ? - robby boy - 19-05-12 I usually wear them as I find the wind noise inside my Nitro lid can be quite distracting, plus they have not found a way to transplant peoples hearing. :pokefun Re: ear plugs - do you / don't you & why ? - eddie - 19-05-12 wear ear plugs all the time when riding bike, even to live music gigs Re: ear plugs - do you / don't you & why ? - Motorbreath - 19-05-12 Always on road too Re: ear plugs - do you / don't you & why ? - Grahamm - 19-05-12 I tried without when I first started riding, but even with the Shoei XR-1000 which is supposed to be a quiet lid, I found the noise too tiring. I use the Howard Leicht foam plugs at the moment, but I'm thinking of getting some of these "mould your own" ones someday. Re: ear plugs - do you / don't you & why ? - ddtwelve - 19-05-12 I dont wear them if the noise is too loud outside or your exhaust is too loud your helmet is not fitted properly :lol Re: ear plugs - do you / don't you & why ? - Hodge - 19-05-12 I wear them all the time now. I can still hear enough but I noticed it made me more vigilant of what's going on around me. The other thing it affected was that feeling of oneness' with the bike. Re: ear plugs - do you / don't you & why ? - griff86 - 19-05-12 I ride with them all the time. Never when I'm motocrossing though, with the lack of wind noise I've never felt the need for them. I play in a band and have always used them, also I can't sleep without them in either so I'm all for ear plugs. Re: ear plugs - do you / don't you & why ? - acid drop - 19-05-12 wear them always when riding |
