speedo stoped working - ernst - 12-05-12 :\ hi all,out on the bike today and doing about 60 ish and speedo just droped and hasnt worked since, any ideas guys .everything else electric wise is ok?does it have a fuse for the speedo alone?or any common faults with speedo,s help!! Re: speedo stoped working - how.do@ntlworld.co. - 12-05-12 Speedo works from sensor on front wheel near side. Check the wire to sensor is okay. Mine went funny after I let a garage change the pads and they trapped the wire to the sensor in the process. Every since I have done my own service etc. Re: speedo stoped working - Dunky - 12-05-12 More than likley it will be the ceramic drive dog inside the speedo sensor (one of the small tabs snapped off) you will get one for about £20 new. Hope this helps. Dunky.................. Re: speedo stoped working - Dunky - 13-05-12 Red98 you were correct the first time the name is Dunky mate someone thought it would be funny to alter it due to a remark that was said. Re: speedo stoped working - ernst - 13-05-12 thanks for your suggestions chaps ,will have a look in the morning hopefully an easy fix, last time the wheel was off was about 500 milles ago when i got a new tyre, refitted the wheel myself so if the wires trapped only got me to blame, will let you know as soon as,cheers.
