Fork rebuild - steeeve66 - 20-03-12

Quick question: does anyone here have any knowledge of "Traxxion Dynamics Axxion" fork internals? I'm looking to get my forks redone, probably with K-Tech but am looking at other systems also. The claim is "..these are a piston and shim stack design which work with a digressive action"
Sadly I've no idea what any of that means... Just wondered if anyone here was cleverer than me in the suspension dept could shed some light?

Cheers!
S

Re: Fork rebuild - ghostbiker - 20-03-12

not heard of them, thats not saying much though /shrug
could allways email them and ask them to explain it a bit more?
i know lots recomend Ktec, i do myself as i have the forks done by them. but that dosent meen they are the be all and end all in forks. trouble is you allways take a risk useing something for the first time. that could pay off and be the next best thing and ppl will go for that from now on, but there is allways a chance it will be rubbish. good for the rest of us as we then know to avoid them but bad for you.

"I won the Traxxion Dynamics Ak-20 Axxion Cartridge Kit as one of the door prizes at this years Deals gap Convention.  As alot of you guys know, some of my bikes are equipped with Full Ohlins front forks and I also
have a few forks that have been modified from other companies.  I was anxious to get the Traxxion Dynamic kit for comparison.  The turnaround time for the kit was VERY fast, and the hard part was me finding time to
install it back on the bike.  Once installed, I took it for a pretty long ride through some of our great twisty roads here in WV.  The forks performed FLAWLESSLY, I was really impressed with the feedback and
plushness of the new suspension.  The forks now have a SOLID feel, but not to harsh.  They were setup to my weight and riding ability. I can't be more pleased with the fork kit and will definitely be using them in
some of my other bikes.  In all honesty, they are MUCH better than the bike I have with Ohlins.  The reason behind this is,first,  they are less than half the price of the Ohlins, and second the are setup for me.
I can't say enough how great this kit is and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone wanting a Fork kit that can be used on the street or the track. It really is the best of both worlds.  Whether you race full
time, do track days , or just want the best forks for street riding. The Axxion Ak-20 cartridge kit from Traxxion Dynamics is hard to beat. Thanks to Traxxion Dynamics for sponsoring the 2007 Deals Gap Convention
and also for the best setup forks I have on any bike of mine."

a quote from a R1 rider.

i imagine by the time it gets over here from the septics it will have trebled in price.

Re: Fork rebuild - steeeve66 - 20-03-12

i get slightly suspicious when reading 'reviews' that are quite as gushing as that one - reads like a bit of PR dressed to look like a user review. I, for example rarely use CAPITALS when describing how GOOD something IS, and the last, "thanks to Traxxion..." part reminds me a little of the old 'Not The Nine O'Clock News' "I would willingly sell my house and all it's contents just to help the BBC" sketch. Still, it might be worth looking in to further, like you say, soon they will have trebled in price...

Traxxion get very good reviews on the American Fazer website, but their prices $1149 / £100

http://www.traxxion.com/sporttouringsuspension.aspx

are eye-watering in comparison to the K-tech £300 aftermarket valve option

Reactive Suspension are UK dealer for Traxxion stuff.

Re: Fork rebuild - Kosmic Kartman - 02-04-12

I got some Traxxion valves for my front forks about five years ago and they improved the handling and the feedback considerabley. I got them on a tour of their factory when I did the Dragon.

Contact Lee aka Sportryder on the yank site http://www.yamahafz1oa.com/forum/index.php. He works for them and I'm sure will answer any question you might have.

Re: Fork rebuild - steeeve66 - 02-04-12

Forks whipped off the bike today waiting to be delivered to K-Tech on Tuesday, hopefully returned before Easter weekend with lots of new, shiny stuff inside...

..can't wait!
