Trip meter woes - goldfazer - 15-03-12 Trip counters and clock reset 'emselves when I turn the ignition off. Run when the bikes moving though. What's fallen orf? (FZS600) Re: Trip meter woes - Davidjw - 15-03-12 when I had a similar issue to this turned out to be the battery on mine , got a new one and end of probs ! Re: Trip meter woes - Fazbaz - 15-03-12 Presumably it starts off the button... that means the constant feed to the dash is interupted / cut any time the ignition is switched off... Fuse check then wiring check I'm afraid HTH.... Baz Re: Trip meter woes - Gingernutz - 16-03-12 Thats a coincidence Colin has the same problem on his and has been trying to sort for a while. Best he can figure is that that the live wire into the odometer / trip is shorted or disconnected. Problem is we can't figure out what colour the wire is - anyone know? Re: Trip meter woes - Farjo - 16-03-12 Have a look in the Downloads - bound to be a wiring diagram among them. Re: Trip meter woes - gassitt - 16-03-12 When mine did this i found a break in a small red/blue cable in the loom near rear of battery Re: Trip meter woes - Robbie8666 - 16-03-12 ok i felt daft asking this so kept sctum, when my battery has a moment it resets the digital clock... i dont know how to reset the time.... must be simple but i just cant seem to do it!! Re: Trip meter woes - Andy Clap - 16-03-12 To set the clock:
Re: Trip meter woes - Gingernutz - 17-03-12 Robbie - I have had a fazer for years and when the clock goes back it takes me so long to remember how to fix it the clock is only right for a couple of months before it goes it other way Re: Trip meter woes - goldfazer - 17-03-12 Ah well, fuses (the 4/5 in the fuse box are all OK), can't see any others. Can't see a r/bu wire, but I ain't stripping anything out to look either :lol So looks like it'll have to stay the way it is for the mo. Re: Trip meter woes - Robbie8666 - 19-03-12 thanks for that Andy Clap I will print it off & stick it in my key case! I know what you mean Gingernutz, most of the time it doesn't bother me but sometimes i need to know what time it is when riding to see if the chippy is still going to be open!! |
