Renewing whole braking system - Robfzs - 15-03-12 Hi,i wanna replace all the old rubber lines with stainless braided hoses and change all the pads while i'm doing it any lines/pads people reccomend ? thanks Re: Renewing whole braking system - DryRob - 15-03-12 I got front and rear HEL lines off eBay last year, about £45, not sure of the seller but Mr Brakelines rings a bell. Make sure they've got stainless bolts/ends and not Zinc plated. I fitted the "racing" setup to the front which is two lines straight out of the master cylinder, was cheaper than 1into2 through the splitter at the time and works just as well (also less chance of leaks). Can't remember where I got the seals from, generics off eBay I think. If you go that route make sure you read the listings properly though, from memory there are plenty of sellers that are creative with their advertising and don't sell you a full set. To rebuild the standard calipers you need the following seals: Front; large dust x4, large fluid x4, small dust x4, small fluid x4 (x2 of each type of pot per caliper) Back; dust x2, fluid x2 You also need quite a lot of patience when it comes to bleeding the new system Re: Renewing whole braking system - Fazer Jake - 15-03-12 i was really impressed with Wezmoto brake lines Re: Renewing whole braking system - Skippernick - 15-03-12 (15-03-12, 07:33 PM)Fazer Jake link Wrote:i was really impressed with Wezmoto brake lines Had you just fitted these? [/quote] HAd them for a few months... im impressed with the quality and they work sh%t hot ![]() Re: Renewing whole braking system - Robfzs - 16-03-12 thanks guys, any pads people recomend aswell ? cheers ![]() Re: Renewing whole braking system - edc - 16-03-12 Got the HEL racing set up 2yrs ago. Still work - but had an awkward time fitting at the front. One of the banjos didn't seem to be the right way round... but rather than complain struggled and then managed to get it on in the end! As to pads - EBC HH. Hardly any wear of pads or discs since fitting with the lines. As these are the only lines and pads I have ever bought - and they seem to work - they are the only ones I can recommend them! Re: Renewing whole braking system - swem - 16-03-12 hi got a hel brake line kit and ebc pad set off bikebits ni in bangor Northern Ireland :thumbup cannot fault them at all bargain with him an maybe get a bit off postage :b Re: Renewing whole braking system - Robfzs - 17-03-12 sorry to be a pain, anyone got a link to the kits they bought? thanks again!
