Scrubbing in BT021 (Newbie, sorry) - megamoose19 - 02-03-12

I've just fitted a new rear BT021 on my FZS 600, with a 150 mile ride in the rain likely on Sunday to a course for work, how many miles would it take to get it scrubbed in, prob done 20m on it today with no problems!

Based on what ive been advised, its usually around 100 miles to play it safe. As long as you dont go crazy with any hard acceleration / braking or sharp corners then you should be fine. At the end of the day, its all down to how you ride - just be aware and take it steady Smile

I have BT023s (the models after the BT021s) and they were fitted about a week or two ago but felt perfect as soon as rode out of the garage - I dont have the necessary tools to do it myself Wink

Yeah, gotta admit these felt immediatley planted but it was dry and clear but don't wanna be left with a false sense of security and end up on me side!!

Have had a number of the BT versions and all have been great scrubbing in just take it easy with the throttle and breaks gradually use more lean. You will see your chicken strips getting smaller and smaller and that glaze off the tread then you can give it a bit more it's worth a little bit of time to make sure the tires are sorted as for mileage never stuck to or even thought about that I just check the look of the tire and gauge it from there.
Have fun stay safe
