Been looking at a more up to date steed - BIG MAC - 27-02-12 And kinda liking the idea of the GSX650 even although its a bit poky and wheezy...it sounds a bit like a good distance bike and comfy..maybe a power commander and pipe would unleash a few more horses...but fuel economy seems good as stock. Anyone know anything about them (Very much a tentative enquiry as funds a long way off at the mo) Re: Been looking at a more up to date steed - dr bong - 27-02-12 Dunno but I've got an exceptionally nice GSF1250S for sale............. Re: Been looking at a more up to date steed - GringoRojo - 28-02-12 Can't help much other than suggest a test ride. Re: Been looking at a more up to date steed - alan sherman - 28-02-12 Given that the extra 50cc puts it in the top tax band why not just go the whole hog and get the big bandit. You can take up wheelieing and head bearing replacement as a hobby! Is the touring version (GT) still available with all the panniers and faiing - seemed an absolute bargain a couple of years ago. Re: Been looking at a more up to date steed - dr bong - 28-02-12 Here you go... 8) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2008-SUZUKI-BANDIT-GSF-1250-SA-K8-BLACK-REDUCED-PRICE-/220945934587?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item33716768fb Re: Been looking at a more up to date steed - Hodge - 28-02-12 I have a GSX650F L0 and it's not a lot different from the Fazer. It's a bit heavier but gives similar mileage to the gallon. Comfort wise I have done a few 700/750 mile day trips on it and it was fine. It's a tricked up Bandit at heart but the full fairing and sportier suspension make a difference. It's not perfect but it is good at what it does. You can use it for commuting, touring or a nice weekend blast. I've had mine up to 135mph (of public roads of course). Take one for a test ride. ![]() Re: Been looking at a more up to date steed - BIG MAC - 28-02-12 If I went 1250 I would go for the FA or the GT I think but with my not so clean licence I am thinking head over heart Re: Been looking at a more up to date steed - cy8rm4n - 19-05-12 Seriously tempted by some of the low deposit low rate finance deals on brand new bikes out there at the moment. Anyone with inside knowledge got any idea if this is as good as it gets or will I be kicking myself a few months down the line when even better deals are on the books? |
