Newbie 'old but ain't grey' - Hi from Malvern - TrukkoMan - 11-02-12

Hi There...I'm pleased to join like-minded owners. Had my 2005 Fazer Thou Gen 1 from new and it's a great bike as you all know, and I've had a few over 48 years of riding. And yes! I need help. I want to lower and move forward the rider's footpegs and controls but am having difficulty finding suitable parts. Rearsets to move pegs back and down are no problem (e.g. Rizoma), but that's not going to resolve my knee aggro (from too many years of squash). If anyone has done such a mod, I'd be very grateful to hear about it. I'm in Malvern and it's freeeeeeezing!

Hi TrukkoMan and welcome. 48 years!!!! I assume you've had a break in that time? Freezing up here in York too.

You're better off asking your mod question in the Fazer 1000 corner as you will get more response.

Thanks Farjo. Actually no, no breaks. Except for the collar bone when racing a JAP 500cc Hagon grasstracker on the beach at Redcar in the late 60's. I (mis)spent my years at Liverpool Uni learning how to ride and race motorbikes (sand racing) instead of studying....got a pass degree tho'. My kids all love me for it....no problem beating Dad's pass level degree. I'll do as you suggest. BTW I fitted a Maxton rear shock in 2010 and it is a delight. The bike is so much steadier and precise in the bendy bits.

:lol Well a degree's a degree, especially one from the '60s when not many people had one. I once saw sand racing on the south coast down Bournemouth way and it looked thrilling (but dangerous). Not many people can say they've ridden for that all time continuously. Bet your kids don't love you for that though :rolleyes
