Hi from a newbie - RedRag - 10-12-11 Hi there Great site with some really helpful friendly advice etc. I am one of the early 600 riders having owned my original black 600 since 1999. We have ridden 14,000 faultless (the bike not me!) miles together and not had a single problem. Original down pipes, painted every few years with mat black engine paint, full service and a lot of love have kept this standard bike (fender extender, rad grill and crash bars apart) perfect ![]() ps If you have not done the Pyrenees, then do make the effort as you will not regret such a fantastic experience. Re: Hi from a newbie - Farjo - 26-12-11 Interesting stuff, and thanks for your comments about the site ![]() Re: Hi from a newbie - RedRag - 27-12-11 Hey Farjo, I just dug out some old trip itinerary - you've taken me back to some good ol memories - 8 guys and 11 days of bikers bliss, thanks. Portmouth to Cherbourg - Ride to Montignac, Dorgogne ( c400 miles). Spend 5 days in Gitte discovering brilliant roads and great food. Travel south to Andorra where we stayed overnightin Xalet Ritz at La Massana. Brilliant trip starting with arrid heat followed by cooler air and within 1/2 an hour snow and mountains goats as we approached Andorra - some climate change that was! Next morning onto the border and ride through the Pyrenees 2 days later arrive at a fantasic overnight stop in a Parrador (10th century castle cost c£50 Per person) at Hondarribia. Next day ride to Bilbao for the overnight ferry back to Portsmouth. Re: Hi from a newbie - Farjo - 29-12-11 Sounds excellent :thumbup |
