Sprockets and stuff - 1967fazer - 02-12-11

Can anyone tell me the standard sizes are for the front and rear sprockets on a 5lv and also if its best to change the front or the rear? I think some one mentioned having to fit a speedo corrector thingy when you put different sized sprockets on, is this correct?

Everything you need to know about different sprocket ratios is covered here:

Changing the sprocket sizes will affect speedo accuracy.  You can fit a correction device if you wish.  See Pat's Site re the Yellow Box installation. Smile

i went 2 bigger on the rear and fitted a speedo healer to compensate for the sprocket and the built in manufactors error

Has anyone any idea what the built in error amounts to, I shouldn't think it's anything worth bothering about as the speedo can't be read that accurately anyway, especially in sunlight. Bet Mike can hardly read his at all!

You're right.

I got the original gag, Dekker.  Just twisted it a bit for the comeback.  Smile

November was unusually rainy so my riding took a hit.  Looking better for next week, though.  Wink

Thanks for the replies folks, was planning on changing said C&S, but having now lost my job, I will have to put it off for now!  :'(

You might have already tried this, but the chain may be long enough if you fit it over the rear sprocket before sliding the wheel spindle through.

Re: Sprockets and stuff - paul.s - 13-12-11

thats how i tried doing it cant quite get the wheel far enough back to get the spindle in thats with the adjusters all the way in  Sad
